Kal Tire

Initial Review:
Terrible service. Don't waste your time like I did. Made an appointment yesterday for a 2:00 pm appointment today at this Kal Tire to get a slow leak fixed. I arrived on time for the appointment. After 3 hours of waiting and my repeated queries as to the status of my scheduled work, I finally gave up and left. Unbelievably poor on their part. How about some communication when I asked about the status such as: "we're really sorry sir, we're backed up today and unfortunately we may not be able to get to you on time. Would you like to reschedule for another time?". There is NO excuse for such poor communication and service. Until today I was a loyal customer but I doubt I'll be back.

Follow-up:
Jimmy, the manger at Kal Tire, called and was very apologetic for my bad experience. He didn't have to call and follow-up with me, but he did, and that says a lot about his efforts to make it right. He understood the lack of communication issue when I was in his shop initially and he reports that they have since made some positive changes to their appointment system. Thanks for the follow-up Jim and based on our discussion I will definitely give you guys another shot in the future.

Ordered a new set of tires from this location. Had them installed here too, about a week later I managed to destroy one of the tires and needed to order a replacement. Ordered the new tire and had it installed. Drove home only to realize they didn't put the spare back in the trunk as well as my original rim was now missing it's center cap. I called and they said they would have the center cap and the spare tire ready for pick up the following day, apologized and that was that. Or so I thought. I arrive at the store and am made to wait 30 minutes while the Kal Tire rep scours the back shop for my spare tire and wheel cap, "ready for pick up" means something completely different to them it seems. He emerges with my spare tire but the wheel cap is lost, so they promised me they will order a new one from Subaru Calgary for me and call me to let me know when it is in. Fast forward more than a month and I haven't heard anything, I call in and lo and behold they have nothing in their system detailing the trials and tribulations that have resulted from a simple tire replacement. Trying to get an answer on why the promised replacement part was never ordered was like trying to draw blood from a stone. Calling in means you're put on hold for 40 minutes at a time, the frequency at which this happens at this location causes me to believe this is a strategy to demoralize anguished customers. You stole my wheel cap, (yes, that's what it's called when you take something and don't replace it) and you stole more of my time than I care to admit giving me the runaround. A $7 part and an apology is all that would've made me happy to return my business. Good business is really just that simple. Hope you are able to figure it out soon.

they really did not deserve the one star but there was no option to give zero. If you need winter tires, do not go to North Hill Kal Tire! GO ANYWHERE ELSE!
Customer service is abysmal and the staff (including the Assistant Manager) lie to you to cover up their inept service.
I had an appointment. My vehicle was finally taken back 1-1/2 hours later. I was told My vehicle would be done shortly because they were just "torquing" my tires. Finally I went outside and found my vehicle. The Ass Mgr tried to tell me it was done 12 minutes after it went back into the shop.
If your time and money are valuable to you, do not go to North Hill Kal Tire!

My first experience with this location was when I had to send my wife (with 3 kids under 3!) to get work done. They were super helpful and supportive of her. Since then, we have been back several times in the past few years. Each time I've been impressed with their attitude and level of service.

I got my tires rotated and balanced and my alignment checked. Turned out that I needed an alignment and even with that I had my truck back in two hours. The only reason I didn't give a five star rating was when I got my wheels retorqued the next day the guy that came out didn't know how to take my center caps off. But over all a great experience.

Not only does Kal Tire have great tire service they also have a full mechanic shop at this location. I went in for an oil change and a couple other things and they were very professional about the whole thing. They explained the most inexpensive way to get my services done, and they didn't try and rip me off with the inspection.

The inspection at Kal tire is excellent, most mechanics try and sell you stuff but Kal Tire will only recommend what you actually need and they will explain why you need it.

The prices are very reasonable, much better then a dealership or lube place.

I will always return to Kal Tire for all mechanical work

My elderly father brought his 10 year old car to fix a flat about 3 months ago. The tire was beyond repair so Kal tire sold him 2 new ones, and they correctly recommended putting the new ones on the front. He was very pleased with the service and left a happy customer.
A month later he asked me to look at his car because there was a problem with the brakes. A small shimmy had developed and when he hit the brakes the whole steering wheel would vibrate heavily. He asked me to take a look. Expecting to find a problem with the rotor or with the suspension I took off the front wheel to inspect the brakes. What I found was the person who had put the wheel on the car had done so incorrectly. There was some rust and dirt pinched between the wheel and the hub, especially the center ring. I brushed it off, replaced the wheel, and the problem is completely gone.
The Kal tire employee was the last person to replace the wheel. By not cleaning the wheel they caused it to roll crooked. It would have only taken a minute with a wire brush to clean the wheel before putting it on. It was sloppy work. Putting wheels on a car correctly is supposed to be their area of expertise, not mine, and they should pay attention to basic details such as this. Train your staff.

Went in this morning to have my winter tires replaced with my summer tires. Excellent friendly service. They looked at my summer tires with me and discussed wear, I already knew the tires were nearing replacement. They were very helpful, not pushy, offered very helpful information. They went ahead with my originaly scheduled winter/summer switch and finished up about 20 minutes ahead of their estimated time. I will definitely go back soon to get a new set of tires. Top notch, stress free, friendly service.

Excellent as always! Great staff , the lady on the location is professional, & friendly ! I have 2 set of Nokian tires bought from this location & they have always been on top of the service whenever i need it.
I went to get my car tire leak fixed & got it done within the time promised to me. Keep up the great job !

Definitely a 5 star review to KalTire North Hill for the awesome experience with Julio Scarzella. He is a great salesman, makes it no pressure, simple and very customer service orientated. As my tires were on back-order, he was patient, helpful and efficient throughout the whole process. I would 100% recommend anyone to this location!

I'm from Kamloops and stopped in Monday afternoon, the day before I was driving back home, because my passenger windshield wiper wasn't working right. It was quite busy inside but when I explained the situation, the front desk person looked at it then went to get a service technician right away. He said the joint just needed lubrication and when I said I was leaving next day he took it right in and brought it back good as new in about 10 minutes. There was no charge for it either!!
Really great service and super friendly to me and my elderly parents who were with me too!

Great team and fast turnaround! These guys saved me $$$ when other stores were gouging me. They shoot straight and make sure you are in a safe vehicle as well as being thorough on explaining on why they are doing things.
