If you have pre registered please be at Eagle Butte by 9:40am. If you are registering the morning of the tournament then please arrive by 9:20am.
Bow in is at 10:00am SHARP! We will be starting with weapon kata as well as the 5 and under groups and then go up by age group from there. I apologize that I cannot give more specific times but the time is dependant on how many students arri...ve for each division.
Sensei Loriann is running the canteen that day so there will be food and drinks and snacks.
Spectator fee is $5 for anyone 6 years and older. Any parents who volunteer at tables will not be required to pay a spectator fee so be sure to sign up on the volunteer sheet. Volunteers need no experience. The black belt judges will tell you what to do and help you every step of the way.

MONDAY NOVEMBER 12th
All classes are running normally. We understand that many have the day off in lieu of Remembrance Day but we will still be running normal classes since our Monday Wednesday classes have already missed a couple of days due to Thanksgiving and Halloween.
That is also picture night!

A few photos from our extra kata class.
Did you know?
All of the money we charge for these extra classes goes right back to our students. We use this money to pay for registration for our out of town tournament goers to make attending these events more affordable.
... The instructors that show up on their Saturday do so as a volunteer so that we can give our students additional support and training prior to things like testing or tournaments.

As we start to get into more sparring and into tournament season you want to make sure you have all of the right protective gear.
Redcliff Dental offers fitted mouth guards for athletes which can make wearing them a lot more comfortable than the basic ones your form at home.
Check it out if you prefer a mouth guard that is built for your childs teeth.

We are so excited to bring in Sensei Juan Osuna of Osuna Karate to come and do a traditional shotokan seminar with our students!
We will be covering basic techniques and movements, kumite (sparring) techniques and strategy, as well as some shotokan katas.
We have adjusted how this seminar will run slightly due to interest! From 10am to 12pm, YELLOW ORANGE AND GREEN BELTS are able to attend and cover some more beginner/intermediate concepts. The afternoon portion will be fro...m 1pm to 4pm and will be for black belt club, blue belt or higher, and adults only.
Higher belts are welcome to come watch the beginning portion of the seminar if they like as we can all benefit from going through the basics but your hands on portion will start after lunch.
Uniforms and sparring gear are required.
Cost is $15/person and must be pre registered and pre paid so we know how many students to expect.
Sensei Ally had an opportunity to work with Sensei Juan last year when she was training for WKF tournaments and for a spot on the provincial team. He is an excellent instructor and we are very lucky to have him coming to our dojo. I definitely encourage you to make sure you attend this event.

Not only have my children been enrolled in the class but i have started taking Self Defense as well. I have seen improvement in attitude and confidence with both my children. They have each told me that they truly enjoy karate. Its important for me that my children know not only the discipline and the respect that karate teaches but also how to defend themselves. All the sensai's are great with my special needs son. They treat him just like the other students and really make him feel included. Thank you Karate-Do!!
