Kensington Physiotherapy & Acupuncture Clinic

Booked an appointment apprx. 2-3 weeks ago and the first they had available was this morning at 11. I asked on the phone if they did direct billing and said that I had benefits through school. The woman I spoke with confirmed that direct billing would be available as long as I brought my insurance information to my first appointment. I showed up 15 minutes early today so I could fill out any necessary forms before my appointment. I completed all the forms and then handed everything to the receptionist along with my benefits information and then she told me that they didn't do direct billing for students. I wasn't able to go ahead with the appointment as I obviously hadn't planned to pay for it myself today. It's pretty unacceptable to be giving clients incorrect information about billing practices. It was not miscommunication, but misinformation. I only gave 2 stars because I can't speak to the services themselves.

Wow- Gord Dewar does fabulous work! Broke my shoulder 3 years ago and orthopedic surgeon said I may never get back mobility to before break ,and another young physio therapist said there was nothing more they could do except give me exercises. Since seeing Gord he has got me back to almost 100% range of motion through him working on my arm, using his wonder machine to stimulate it and exercises. Highly recommended clinic- Thanks Gord!! Terrific staff! Very friendly and accommodating.
My lower back was in such a bad state that my day to day life was becoming very compromised. After two visits a week for a few weeks Gord had me back to 100%. He pinpointed the injury immediately and also gave me a few stretches that have kept the injury from returning.

Although everyone working there provided friendly and excellent customer service, I found the treatment to be along the lines of a band aid for an underlying problem. After 5-6 treatments without any real progress I switched and am feeling better after 2 sessions with a different physio.

The treatments had a very impersonal feeling to them, as he treated between 2-3 clients in every 15 - 20 minute session. He was nothing but friendly to me, and seemed knowledgeable as my latter physiotherapist agreed with his diagnosis but was wondered by his choice of actions to remedy.

He may be able to help you, but my advice would be to switch sooner then I did if you notice no real progress. Try U of C sports medicine
