Kilkenny Irish Pub

Every time I go here I really want to enjoy it. It seems like a great place at first. As soon as you walk in there are screens everywhere, a couple of games in the corner, lots of beer options and the staff are busy. But the experience is always a let-down. Getting the attention of a staff member is a challenge and when you do, they're fairly curt and you won't see them again for quite a while. The selection is large, but pricey, and the food just falls flat nearly every time. Event during their weekend buffet it's a challenge to find more than one or two items (of many) that are cooked well and taste good.

Been coming here for 4 years. This is the best place in town to enjoy a litre of beer and wings. Total bill usually comes to $12 bucks or something before tip. Unheard of these days. Will return many more times. The Gaslamp beers are excellent value for my recession dollars.

I was there a year ago and should have left a review, but since my wife recently had an awful experience I may as well finally leave one.

This place was one of the usual places my friends and I would go to for a few years. It's a cool bar and environment and the service was ok.

But if the place ever gets more than half full it's sooooooo slow. Many of the servers seem indifferent to people sitting there with nothing for 30-40 min. In my experience it took 20 min to get water and 40 min to get a beer.

It took 40min for my wife and her friends to get a beer last time she was there a couple weeks ago as well.

The place is not worth the wait in any way and so the place would have to change before I would ever go back. I hate being a negative nancy but it seems like this place doesn't really care about the customers much, yet for some reason people keep going. I guess the ample parking is worth the wait? I don't get it.

Was my first time here. Not huge on pubs but I was pleasantly surprised.....staff was very knowledgeable and attentive. When it wasn’t them, some manager made sure I was okay. Felt welcome and I’ll definitely be coming back with my friends.

Meals have vastly improved! We had Wednesday night Pub Burger special. Delicious juicy burgers! Bacon and mushrooms done perfectly. Price was unbeatable.

I really enjoy all the Calgary Best Pub bars. They have some of the best wing flavours and I live the Gas Lamp beer.

The girls and guys here are super friendly and always willing to help. Management will go above and beyond to make your experience one that is favored and lasting :) Their Gas Lamp brand is cheap beer, but if you like $4-$5 deals ... Food is decent, very overpriced($15 for wings ..?) And the place is huge, so can make for a little longer wait times....
I just wish they didn't serve 8 month old chili that's been sitting in the freezer since last stampede :)

Erica gave my table the worst of service. Didn't check on our food, no offers for top ups on drinks, i asked too order more wings and she cake back with our bills instead.

Will come back because I have been going to the kill for years. But that was the worst experience I've had.

Ate at this pub with a friend recently been before I like it because it's more quiet. Then the pub next door but I find the server's less attentive even when it's not very busy having to wait for dirty dishes to be cleared and to order drinks though not unbearable it can be a bit annoying but the pub next door was a 15 min wait to be seated so you take the good with the bad sometimes. Other then a bit of a wait for drinks ( maybe i am impatient) the food was decent pub fare served hot the drinks were cold. All you can ask for from a pub. In my opinion though if you want something a little more franchisee and consistent with big televisions and you don't mind a lot of people and noise then next door might be for you .
