WHAT IS A TYPICAL TREATMENT?
On your first visit the therapist will provide a detailed consultation discussing your condition and symptoms followed by an assessment of external and possibly internal pelvic structures. This will provide information relating to the pelvic floor muscles, nerves and other structures in the area. From this information an individualized plan is made.
TREATMENT FOCUS
Creating a strong pelvic floor (the sling of muscles and ligaments that support your pelvic organs) can prevent or minimize leakage and help to control strong urges. It can promote the strength, flexibility and balance of muscles involved in delivery. After delivery, pelvic floor physiotherapy helps to restore a strong core for both vaginal or caesarean delivery
