When you make a medicine bag, you make a commitment to Spirit and to yourself, to live in a good way. A medicine bag is a symbol of your personal medicine to heal you, help you grow, help you love and provide protection.
Come spend an afternoon in our peaceful circle, smudge and ask for guidance in creating a bag just for you. Tea, smudge and all materials are provided; please bring tobacco for the spirits.
**This is the Sunday overflow class - it will be the same material as... the Saturday workshop. You are welcome to come to both if you like!**
Cost: Free to smudge and pray; $25 to make a medicine bag. This covers the cost of materials and workshop space rental. Everyone is welcome to join us. We are wheelchair accessible.

Make your own mini Metis sash, using the traditional Canadian art of finger-weaving. Sip tea while you weave and listen to stories of the sash weavers, and how the ceinture flechee came to be an iconic symbol of the Metis people. Find out the meaning behind the patterns and colors, and make sample bracelets, lanyards or hatbands from each pattern using your own unique color choices.
Level 1 will be on Saturday. Beginner’s patterns include Stipple and Diagonal stripe.
... Level 2 is Sunday. Intermediate patterns include Sawtooth, Lightening, and Chevron.
Tea & all supplies are provided. This workshop is suitable for ages 12 and up. Younger children with finger-weaving experience and 3 hour+ attention spans are also welcome.

Elderberries are Exciting - they are the traditional and amazing Superfood of the Rocky Mountains! Elderberry was a choice medicine for early Canadians, Americans and Europeans, being widely antiviral & anti-inflammatory in nature. Elderberries can even be used for art, as they provide both blue and red pigment when properly prepared.
They are naturally low-sugar and provide berry flavor and coloring to many common foods and candies. Preservation of the medicinal values of th...e berry, and their high antioxidant value, are a key factor in creating a high-quality elderberry product. Using a traditional pioneer recipe, we will explore the vast medicine, art & food uses of the elderberry tree and make some tasty gourmet syrup to take home from fresh, locally grown elderberries. Don't miss out on this quirky, fun and informative workshop on a truly unique Canadian medicine.
