Hey everyone
I am back in August for about 2 weeks... minus my kids bday
I want to run a seminar on Sunday August 19th from 10-1:30pm
... I am thinking either Con Com, or updated “mall walk” situational awareness and people reading.
First off: can you make it, second what do you want to cover in a 3 hour intensive workshop.
Cost will be 60 bucks for contract students and 80 for non-contract.
So tell me or Michelle in person, what do you want to cover?

UPDATE: i have had my first class. Love it. Thor is awesome. Very informative and explains everything very well. Highly recommend this place!!

I haven't taken my first class yet but already I'm impressed. They respond to messages almost instantly and take the time to answer every one of my questions. I have a friend who is taking lessons with Thor and he strongly recommends him and this friend is very picky when it comes to taking any kind of martial arts classes. I can't wait to start!!

The best place to come and learn self defense! The instructors are amazing and highly knowledgeable. Randy is routinely updating and improving the curriculum to teach you the best skills you need to defend yourself. The techniques are realistic and focus on real world situation and they focus on gender specific violence so it's especially great for women. If I didn't love this place so much I wouldn't have been coming here for the past 7 years.

If you are still reading then here is some of the more amazing things you will find in this place that you will probably never find in other places. They teach you the psychology of violence and how to use it to assess the threat and use it defend yourself. They teach you how to deal with verbal and physical abuse and taunts. They teach you how to deal with your adrenaline dump and use it. Most importantly they teach you in the context of current real world violence; multiple attackers, knife attacks, gun point mugging, etc. For example, if there is a sudden rise in machete attacks in Edmonton then they will add that in to the curriculum and teach you how to deal with it. Lastly one of the things they understand and teach is that because everyone has a different body no one technique works for every person for every situation and you have to modify and adapt to what works best for you; at the end of the day it doesn't matter what you used to get out of that violent encounter, it matters that you got out alive.

I highly recommend you come try this place out no matter how much or little training you have! Plus you get to meet a really cool guy named Thor.

Taking the 8 week intro course and I love it. Very fun and friendly instructors. Totally worth it.

User

Started my classes last week and I’m loving it. Everyone is approachable for questions. They (so far) haven’t made me feel like I’ve asked stupid questions. Yes it’s intense but in a good, I know I’m going to feel safe walking down the street, kind of way.

User

So, I'm not very comfortable with a class scenario, but have done a couple with no pressure to do so and I've been taking Privates for a while now. So I will give both ratings.

Classes usually make me feel extremely uncomfortable. Being the odd ball out. Niches and such. I can comfortably say, this doesn't happen here. Randy and Thor along with the other members, recognize this in others and will stand in partnerships with them.

Randy and Thor really see their room and work with the people there.

Not a lot of people can do this.

Privates are so worth the extra amount to gain so much more.

Randy and Thor, both whom I've had the honor of teaching me, are so willing to not just listen, but understand any concerns and or questions I have and I usually have a lot of questions.

Taking the time to see what makes someone "tick" (for a lack of a better word) and understand why they react in such a way, speaks volumes for the kind of people you are investing, not only your money, but time in to.

I feel fortunate to be in this place I choose to learn Self Defence.

Because what I've taken from KPC, far exceeds just protecting myself from the bad people.

Hope this rating wasn't too long.

User

Randy ran my company through the Smiling Security seminar and everybody agreed that it was an exceptionally run course. The information provided is a force multiplier and I highly recommend it to anybody working in the security/bouncer area.

Randy's instruction is fun and informative mixing elements of humor in with very technical information making for a enjoyable time.

User

Randy has been a friend and instructor of mine for years. As a long time doorman as well as Olympic Freestyle wrestler I can say with confidence that his training methods are well researched and are completely practical for self defense scenarios. I highly recommend KPC for both newcomers and people from other fighting backgrounds.

User

Randy and his team have built something special. A practical, inclusive, and effective community focused on giving you realistic training that is both fun and can save your life. Great group of people and affordable courses.

User

Randy and his amazing crew put together a very solid program the gives you the tools to protect yourself as well as learn in a fun safe environment.

I really like the reality based self defence if you want to learn to the point tactics and not have to spend years training one specific self defence or fighting style this is for you.

User

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our intro self defense class that we got to experience with Randy and Thor! They were generous to give up some of their time to host a class on Mother's day and donated the proceeds to The Edmonton Mental Health Foundation, thank you!! Randy has such a simple and effective way of explaining the human thought process around the different types of attacks one could experience. His training gives you an immediate sense of confidence knowing that if you were in a situation, you have a leg up in knowing how to defend your self and how to get to safety. Randy and Thor are both extremely knowledgeable and both my wife and I would recommend KPC to anyone looking for self defense training! Thanks guys!

KPC's Smiling Security course is a must for all bar security staff and a should for all porters and management. Randy has a ton of experience and offers practical verbal and non verbal persuasion techniques. He showed how to safely and effectively get people out of a bar in the age of camera phones!

This course is a no brainier for bar owners when it comes to liability protection. I am an 11 year veteran of the security industry and would recommend this course to all bar staff regardless of experience level.

User

KPC is one of the first gyms that I've been in that allows members to be themselves as well as develop a community within. Everybody is super approachable, super helpful, and super laid back. Most importantly, all information is relevant and handed to us in a way to train us in a fun and safe environment.

User

KPC has awesome instructors. They really do train reality-based self-defense. I've learned a lot from the classes, and they are fun, challenging, and always practical. I've recommended KPC to my friends and family.

KIDS CLASS: I was very excited when KPC started a kids class. It is the best class I have put my son in hands down! Thor is incredible with all of the kids. My son presents a challenge with having a need to talk or move around constantly, which Thor handles amazing! His balance of patience and not tolerating disruptive behaviour is remarkable. My 6 year old talks about Thor quite often and how he’s going to be like him one day, haha, pretty decent role model to have. But the lessons that my son takes away from that class, which is so much more than the content, have made a big difference in his day to day life. Something that I attribute to the way Thor interacts with him.

User

Just finished the 8 week intro course and I can't say enough about how much fun I've had here and never thought I could learn so much in a short time! Thanks guys! Looking forward to self defense 102!

User

If you're searching for a no nonsense, pure self defence school, then look no further than KPC. KPC has exceeded my expectations in every way. Randy and Thor (head instructors) are incredibly knowledgeable (understatement), humble and genuinely care about every student regardless of a person's level of experience and fitness. Everyone from Randy/Thor, assistant instructors, experienced students will never hesitate to help new students. My only regret is not finding this school sooner!

User

I just finished the intro program and it was great! I liked the fact that the curriculum is reality based and geared towards events that one might encounter in this day and age.

The instructors were very friendly, patient and knowledgeable. They had no problem going over and discussing techniques if someone wasn’t quite getting it.

The other students in the class were also very friendly. Everyone worked together to help each other learn and improve. Always respectful and non discriminatory.

Testing was intense but fun! The whole point of the test, from what I understand, is to:

a) Make sure that you understand and can apply what you have learned.

b) make sure that you are physically capable to continue in the the program (If you choose). Keeping everyone’s health safety in mind.

I am looking forward to continuing learning and training at KPC and would recommend it to anyone else interested in learning how to defend themselves.

User

Finished and passed the intro counter ambush class with Randy and Thor. Thoroughly enjoyed the training and can't wait to come back for future classes.

I feel fortunate to be in this place I choose to learn Self Defence.

Because what I've taken from KPC, far exceeds just protecting myself from the bad people.

Hope this rating wasn't too long.

Randy and his team have built something special. A practical, inclusive, and effective community focused on giving you realistic training that is both fun and can save your life. Great group of people and affordable courses.

Randy and his amazing crew put together a very solid program the gives you the tools to protect yourself as well as learn in a fun safe environment.

I really like the reality based self defence if you want to learn to the point tactics and not have to spend years training one specific self defence or fighting style this is for you.

KPC is one of the first gyms that I've been in that allows members to be themselves as well as develop a community within. Everybody is super approachable, super helpful, and super laid back. Most importantly, all information is relevant and handed to us in a way to train us in a fun and safe environment.

Just finished the 8 week intro course and I can't say enough about how much fun I've had here and never thought I could learn so much in a short time! Thanks guys! Looking forward to self defense 102!

Hands down my favorite place to train. All the instructors are incredible, there is a great friendly atmosphere and the classes are really fun.

Finished and passed the intro counter ambush class with Randy and Thor. Their teaching style is fun and effective and they focus on the important elements of self defense (running is always an option!). The fellow students in the class were great people and it was a memorable intro to the world of not just Krav, but self defense. Thoroughly enjoyed the training and can't wait to come back for future classes.
