We've been here a handful of times. Honestly it is some of the best food we have ever had! The service is fun and friendly. You can tell it's a family-run business. I want to come back and try everything on the menu! xx

User

This was not our first visit and certainly will not be our last. From the greeting when we walk in to the delicious lunch item, eggs Benedict (terrific) burger ( best cheese burger I have had for quite awhile, and the strawberry waffle ( great taste and beautiful presentation) drip coffee was great. We even took home some shortbread cookies that melt in your mouth. Very friendly staff. We will be back for sure.

User

The people are amazing and the food is thoughtful and delicious. The treats to go are wonderful and I haven't found another place like it in the SW. Kinda reminds us of our trip to France. Highly recommend.

User

The food is consistently delicious & fresh.

Melissa & all the staff are efficient & courteous.

They make all their customers feel like family!

User

The Ladybug & Cafe is my happy place! Amazing food, wonderful staff, beautiful and peaceful atmosphere. Whenever I have friends or family members visiting from out of town, this is always my go to place to take them! So thankful to have a cafe like this to sneak away to for some quiet time and a delicious latte

User

Our first visit was today and boy were we ever glad we trekked over! Absolutely delicious lunch and the best cappucino I have had outside of Europe! Fantastic value, loads of healthy and delicious choices on the menu, and friendly staff made our little mom-daughter lunch date absolutely amazing. We will defintely be back - we have found our neighborhood gem!

User

Never disappointed, always great food. great atmosphere and services, closet thing to eat at a restaurant in Belgium ☺

User

I have been coming to Ladybug for 4 years now. I have always been treated with the utmost courtesy and attention. The service is friendly and organised considering that the place is almost always full of customers and it takes a tremendous effort to keep everyone seated and well served. Most customers are always willing to cooperate, wait to be seated, happy to share tables shoulder to shoulder and because of that sometimes even new friendships are formed. The food is exceptional, always made with the best ingredients and devotion to the highest quality and presentation. It is unique, authentic, a treat for European food lovers. I recommend Ladybug and Cafe with full confidence.

User

I have been a regular at this restaurant for a number of years and I have nothing but good things to say! The quality of the food and the ingredients are definitely worth the price. The menu maintains all it's staple dishes, like the ham and cheese crepe, the chicken soup and many others. But there are often new things to try too. The coffee and milk that they use are top quality. Although the place is small and may get a little cramped at peek times the staff always work to maintain a consistent flow and a good customer experience. If you're looking for some authentic European cuisine A Ladybug and Café offers both the quality food and the enchanting atmosphere.

User

I didn't expect to like this place as much as I do. Moving to the suburbs you get used to Starbucks and other chains, but this place is amazing. The pastries are some of the best you can get in Calgary; they do coffee right; their staff are friendly. Honestly, I've never had a single thing about my experience be anything but less than perfect.

User

Had a great breakfast today; all the adults agreed the $10 breakfast sandwich was so yummy and great value, service was friendly and quick, the kids enjoyed their kids menu breakfast (at $5 also great value) and they were provided with Boogie Board Scribble and Play ewriters to keep them entertained while we waited. If you haven't tried Ladybug, or haven't been in a while, I highly recommend you give it a try. Happy to have another great option up on the hill, that the entire family can enjoy.

User

Amazing restaurant and chef. They are changing owners today. We are hoping that the new owner maintain the quality and variety of the food and the Yves and family come back to the business with another awesome place after their well deserved rest.

User

Always have the best time, everything is delicious. My retired father insists we visit every time he comes to see us, and my 3 and 6 year olds even seem to behave better here. Absolutely one of my favourite spots for breakfast, brunch, baked goods and quiches for parties, and their buche de Noel is a family tradition every year.

User

Above and beyond of all the Calgary cafes !! My mom, my dad, my friends and myself love the Ladybug Cafe! We haven't tried the food but their coffees, desserts and pastries are delicious! We were happy to find a cafe with culture of serving coffee properly. The staff is friendly and professional. It's so rare to see the staff at cafes clean and tidy up the tables after the customers leave. We always get to sit at the clean table. I drive 30 km from my house to Ladybug (so 60 km in total) to enjoy their coffee and atmosphere with my loved ones. I'm not willing to drive such a distance for any other cafe in the entire Calgary and area. Thank you Marie and your staff for your business excellence!!

User

We came for a quick lunch yesterday and the soup menu didn't disappoint. The price is slightly high but the quality and serving size make up for it. The Ladybug is a neighbourhood gem and we feel so lucky to have it so close to us!

User

We found the food to be very overpriced for the portion size. I don't mind paying that price for a complete sit down meal, however for a restaurant that does order at the counter we felt that it was very expensive. My husband ordered the quiche ($19) and the plate arrived with half a quiche and about 1/2 cup of salad only. Also, with the tables practically touching, it seemed like a upscale take-out restaurant. Won't be returning.

User

Loved the food, even though it was on the pricey side. But I couldn't ignore the awful service. My mom is 64 years old and not in the best health. She went to sit down and the owner told her she couldn't sit at a table until she ordered her food. I paid $63 for 2 people and to be treated like that. I wont be returning. Too bad, I do like the food.

User

I'm not one to write a review, but this takes the cake for the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. As some one who has been on the restaurant industry for quite a some time I understand it is not easy to please everyone but you sure need to try. My friend and I have been dying to try this place as we had heard good things.... All wrong. The tables are crammed together, neither the managers nor the serves have smiles on there faces the gentleman making coffee is making fun of the customers and I have been told by the owner herself that they lie to their customers about reservations so you can't sit where ever you would like even though it posted on the door that you may choose what ever table you like as long as you have a number.... I have a number. But now instead I am stuck between two large parties elbow to elbow not enjoying A coffee as I have been here for 20 minutes and it has yet to arrive.

User

I was looking forward to trying this place out, I drive by it everyday on my way to work and had an hour and a half to kill and stopped in for lunch. The place was crammed (I couldn't even move between the chairs and the staff kept wondering how to bring drinks / food over themselves with no space-- it literally looked like they were trying to map it out in their heads as they stood around the edge). The food was overpriced for the portion sizes, my food tasted bad and when asked how I'd like my eggs done (not too runny so they'd spill everywhere/ but not hard, medium) she said they don't have eggs like that (which leaves me wondering if it's not made fresh/ to order). So I went with soft, but they came out hard in the end so why bother asking. The mocha latte was OK. it wasn't that great, but wasn't bad, I've had better anywhere else I've gone. The staff seemed intimated and nervous, one was rude, and once the food was dropped off I never saw them again. The fridge was so loud you could hear it clear across the room, it was louder than the music and people had to speak up over it. I was so glad I ordered a two sipper orange juice for $4 (I couldn't believe the price) and coffee because I was brought over a dirty glass for my water that I did not want to touch. I did like the staff coming together to sing happy birthday for some of the customers, that was cute. But in the end poor service, rudeness, high priced items, small portions, not the best food or coffee (and this coming from someone who frequents dives, has low expectations, and isn't picky) leaves me not wanting to return. Which is too bad, I thought it might be a cute place for lunch when I don't have a long enough break to go home and have time for a sit down. After telling people where I'd gone for lunch they recounted similar experiences.

User
