Very clean and classy environment and the seats are amazing! The staff was also very friendly. I will definitely be back. If you do go see a movie, take a light jacket as it was cool in the theater. I loved it, but my wife was a bit chilled.

User

This theatre is pretty new and is very plush - full leather reclining seats you can adjust with the push of a button, wide aisles with room to walk so you are not bothering anyone's legs if you need to get in and out, great view of the screen and no chance of someone's head being in the way, along with a limited number of seats in each theatre so it's a more intimate setting. The seats very wide and comfortable, are in pairs and you get a cupholder on the outside of each them with a wide armrest, then a smaller armrest in the middle of each pair (that is still plenty large enough if you happen to sit next to a stranger). The staff was friendly, upbeat and helpful at the concession stand. There's no need to stand in long lines or show up early to get good seats because you can buy tickets and reserve your seat online at no extra cost.

User

Perfect place for a date night! Pretzel dogs are crazy yummy. Staff is all so friendly and efficient. Seats are amazing and so is the sound system! Pricing is fair and so many amazing deals to be had based off the day you go.

User

My son and I went to see A Wrinkle in Time on Sunday. It was our first time to this theatre. We enjoyed our recliners. I love that there is so much room to sit back and relax. Everyone was very friendly. We will be going here more often.

User

My kids and I absolutely love this theatre. Big comfy recliners, lots of leg room and no huge crowds like the Edmonton theatres. I'll take a smaller selection of films over that any day!

User

It was my daughters and mine first time! We loved it. The prices are pretty good, sound is great and seats are what makes it awesome. The front is abit small but the theater in the back is huge! Well worth the drive all the way from north Edmonton!

User

If you like movies and haven’t been to the new Landmark Theatre on Saint Albert Trail yet, you gotta go! As my friend said last night, “This has ruined every single other movie experience as this is by far the best!”

Every single seat in every theatre is a LEATHER LAZY BOY RECLINING CHAIR, y’all! It extends sooooo far with just the push of a button, and is in the top 5 most comfortable chairs I’ve ever sat in category. You pick your seats from their fancy iPad thing at the front via reservation.

They’ve got over 100 drink selections to choose from. I rarely drink pop but last night I had peach sprite, what a treat! And no more sharing the armrest with your strange neighbor cuz essentially you have a whole gigantic row and your own space! And regular size snacks, not the humongogigantous only option at the other theatre.

The sound system is like nothing I’ve ever heard, it’s surround sound like crazyyy, you really have to hear it for yourself to understand. The price comparison is a no brainer to Windermere’s fancy theatre at a crazy price, and their seats don’t recline. A mere $13.50 to see a movie in this theatre, y’all!!! Go check em out, you won’t regret your movie experience will change for the better!

User

I love this theatre! The seats are so comfortable and they recline!! The ticket prices are really good considering the comfort level. Concession prices are good too. I live in NE Edmonton and it’s so worth the drive. Cineplex VIP eat your heart out lol

User

Had a really awesome experience! Everyone I came into contact with was friendly and helpful. The ticket process was really easy to understand, and the seats are really comfy! The location for me is really nice (coming from out of town) I think I will be coming to this theater for most, if not all, of my future movie trips!

User

First visit absolutely fantastic. More comfortable than my own home to watch a great movie . So much choice of drinks. Smaller than I expected and parking difficult only downfall. Great deal Wednesdays admission drink chocolate and popcorn all for $16 with a buddy!! Cheap relaxed fun night out.

Cineplex Odeon you have your work cut out for you if you're going to compete with Landmark Cinemas. A movie goers review.

Went to see Infinity War last night. First time I've been to Landmark Cinemas. I had read reviews of the theatre and was surprised by the positive things people were saying.

We bought our tickets online. Choosing 5 seats in the back row close to the middle where we usually sit when going to the movies. We choose the latest show because I can't stand people bringing in little kids. Not so much the kids but the parents annoy the hell out of me but that's another rant all together.

We arrived at 10:15 for the 10:45 showing and I had to ask where to redeem the ticket voucher that was emailed to me. The gentleman at the counter was very polite and said he could do it but recommended that I get my snacks for the movie first.

The line up was crazy long. I expected to be standing there for at least 20 minutes or more to get to the front. I don't think it was that long. The line seemed to move at a nice steady pace which was surprising. Getting to the front of the line, my son and I were called to the counter. The girl serving us was very polite and upbeat. Actually seemed happy to help. I ordered 3 large popcorn and drinks and 3 large candy snacks $49.70. The deal was, and this was a nice surprise, when bought large drinks and popcorn, you get free refills. Bonus! Plus the drink selection was an A++. Several flavors and combinations. I enjoyed vanilla and cherry Coke Zero. Might try the raspberry flavor next time.

We made our way to the theatre and found our seats. The leather lazy boys were not only comfortable and big but when you get 2 side by side you can raise the armrest to make two seats become like a love seat. I know what you are saying....

"But Andy, Cineplex seats lean back and the armrest moves as well"

This is true, but when you have a person of generous size such as myself, and a person of petite size, like my wife, the seats don't match up because I lean farther back than her and the lifted armrest becomes an uncomfortable obstacle in the way of hand holding.

The seats at Landmark were big, leather power reclining chairs that allow you to relax and enjoy the movie with your feet up and snuggled up to your significant other.

One of the reviews that I read stated that the theater was cold so we brought along a small blanket and surprisingly, we weren't the only ones.

The leg room was a tiny bit tough for someone to get passed if they needed to leave but no more than any other theater.

The movie started promptly at 10:45 and the screen and sound were really good the volume was at a reasonable level and the bass could be felt in the seats which was nice because it allowed you to feel the intensity of the action.

I will definitely be going back there but I do have a few concerns.

Being a new theatre the quality of the seats was impressive. Clean and undamaged. Will they stay that way over time and use? North Edmonton Cinema seats were clean and new at one time. Now, not so much.

Will the free refills be phased out? Cineplex used to offer free refills but they no longer allow that.

Now Cineplex offers a few things that Landmark doesn't.

Scene point, which I use quite frequently, allowing my wife and I to get into the movies for free with 2000 points. Then by buying 2 certain popcorn, pop and candy combos, you are given 2000 scene points to get you back in. The cost for the 2 combos is roughly $55.

Timeplay allows me to interact with the trivia and games on the screen and compete with people in the same theatre. You can win scene points or deals on snacks.

Cineplex also has VIP theatres. There is only one in the city. At the Windemere, however the North Edmonton Cinema is putting one in and should be open by August or September. If you've never been to the VIP, I highly recommend it. Adults only, comfortable seating, alcohol beverages, and if you get there soon enough, they will serve you food and drinks at your seat. The menu has a good selection but it is a bit pricey for a date night. But hey no kids allowed.

So to sum up, I really enjoyed my time at the new Landmark theatre in St. Albert. I definitely will be going there again. Possibly for DP2.

If they offer a reward program similar to scene, and can keep the theatre and seats in good shape, Cineplex may very well lose a loyal customer.

User

Always an amazing experience every time I go! The theatre is definitely modern and updated with the reclining seats, coke machines, and ease of ticket booking. I made this movie theatre my go to theatre after my first time going there to see Black Panther.

User

While it's a new site and that obviously means less wear and tear the place is spacious, easy to navigate and yet seems welcoming. I didn't feel like cattle going into see my film which btw puts the VIP aspect to shame. All deats are reserved and recline, place is clean and screen a good decent size. No one pulling out their phone too was a real treat. The concession serves cherry coke so I really have no issues and will revist again. I'm glad this place is able to make the movies an occassion again without telling me about digital ordering or uploading or downloading or car commercials. Just trailers and then a film. At least when I was there. Worth a date night folks.

User

We arrived on Sunday for a 1230 show.

More parking is required. Hopefully when the other buildings are built it will open up more spots.

It was hot and humid inside the entrance as the hvac isn’t properly working. The concession worker said it’s been dicey since they opened.

The place was filthy. Popcorn and garbage all over the floor and down the hallway to the theatres.

My phone crashed and died after she scanned my ticket and I didn’t remember the seat number. Even though I have an account they couldn’t pull up any of my info on their system. They were very nice and trying to be helpful. So that was good.

Luckily my phone started working after a few min so I was able to know which seats we had.

Walked into the theatre and the first thing you smell is feet. Maybe there should be a mandate that people should leave their shoes on... pretty gross.

It was so hot and muggy in the theatre for the first 25 min or so; then thank goodness the ac came on.

They cleaned up a bit during the movie, so that’s good. Hopefully the hvac gets figured out soon.

10/10 for the seats though. They are simply amazing otherwise I would have rated below 2.

User

Reclining seats are amazing, the theatre is amazing and I like being able to choose where you sit! I do find being able to butter your own popcorn is better as they just cover the top and not even half way through there isn’t even any butter on the popcorn 😂, and paying $4.50 for a bottle of water is a bit extreme!

User

The chairs are AWESOME but seriously, there must be a better way than a line for concession, another line just to fill your drink, and ANOTHER line to get in. It's ridiculously slow and frustrating.

User

Nice theatre, staff is very unhelpful and not willing to accomadate any requests. Purchased tickets from Costco to be told that we are forced to go to the same movie (as it states on the tickets in small print) I sat through the entire movie not enjoying my monies worth. Manager was completely unhelpful and did not even try to address our request. The place is still very cold.

What does it matter which movie is seen being that the tickets are paid for!!.

User

The movie was good, the seats were comfy, everything else sucked. There isn’t enough parking and the restaurants aren’t even open yet which means it’s only going to get worse. The concession isn’t the greatest and the line up just to get a drink is ridiculous. It’s not all it’s cracked up to be.

User

We arrived an hour before the movie started, the movie was sold out, one person was working the register with three people including the manger standing around doing absolutely nothing while we and four other parties waited in line. We talked to someone and their response was “sometimes you have to wait”. I’m sorry but if there are people standing around doing nothing there is absolutely no reason for us to wait. Ridiculous, never going back again and anyone I talk to who is thinking of going to Landmark will hear about our experience.
