We love Langano Skies! The owners are lovely and the food is great! After living in Ethiopia for 1.5 years it was nice to eat at a place that was very authentic. Very fun "family style" outing! If you can handle coffee late at night you must try the Ethiopian Jebena coffee. Roasted fresh when you order it!

We have gone for the vegan buffet twice now and just amazing food. I'm actually not a huge fan of the traditional buffet but this food is so incredible and because of the style of food works well for buffet ... and that injera, is just perfection. We have also gone for regular order off the menu dinner and it's just as delightful.

This place took us by surprise. Our first experience went off without a hitch and am very confident we will be back.

Owner is extremely friendy and is obiously passionate about her cooking, her restaurant and her country! We let her decide our combo platter for 2. It was delicious!! The spinach stew is a winner!! Hands down my favorite restaurant. Not only in Edmonton, but pretty much anywhere. Years ago I went there for a special event for a friend and I was hooked! The flavors are so amazingly complex with multi-levels of spices complimented by the slight sourness of the injera bread you eat with. The communal way it is served makes it a lot of fun and it makes you feel somehow closer to those you are dining with. Whenever my brother and sister-in-law come to town, we always make a point of going at least once and our favorite thing is playing "Kategna roulette". We order a starter of the injera bread with garlic and pepper sauce which is delicious, but depending on the peppers and, I suspect the chef's mood that day, it can either be a pleasant warm glow or a face melting burn! Either way somehow you keep eating because it is that good. For newcomers to the restaurant, it is important to know that the service can be a bit slower than what you are used to in other places, but it sort of fits in with the laid back feel of the place. Relax and check out the gorgeous murals on the walls, the hypnotic fish tank, or just talk to your friends! Trust me, the wait is worth the experience!

Great food, great service! Best food in Alberta!! If you haven’t tried it, you should go. They are very good at helping you order if you haven’t been there before.

Excellent food and warm service, Langano Skies is hands-down my favorite restaurant. The work Amsale and Paul do behind the scenes procuring exotic ingredients not even available in Edmonton is nothing short of extraordinary, and it comes out in the food. Portions are large and you can't beat the price. Langano Skies is a real Edmonton icon.
