About Last Hill Creek Gardens

Local & Chemical Free Market Garden, offering Community Supported Agriculture (CSA), Trees and more.

Last Hill Creek Gardens Description

Last Hill Creek Gardens
We are once again offering a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) for the summer of 2017. This is an innovative partnership between the consumer and producers, where the financial and production risk is shared. In return Share Families receive chemical free, fresh, local, tasty produce that is a heath benefit to all of the family. It allows the consumer to be closer to their vegetable production with the ability to visit the farm, and familiarize themselves on how the produce is grown. It also helps to strengthen the local economy, and protect the environment.
Season: Approx. late June to end of August. (If there is produce in Sept. and the frost hasn’t come we will offer further options at that time. )
A share consists of 10 weeks of fresh vegetables of whatever is in season. The delivery varies from quite small in the beginning to overflowing during the peak season.
We grow all of our vegetables naturally without the use of any chemicals.

Planted produce includes: potatoes, beets, tomatoes, green beans, yellow beans, chard, broccoli, red cabbage, green cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, slicing cucumbers, pickling cucumbers, some herbs, leaf lettuce, romaine lettuce, peas, snow peas, yellow zucchini, green zucchini asparagus, rhubarb, radishes, spinach, pumpkins, pie pumpkins, green onions, and red onions, corn, kale, kohlrabi, parsnip.

Share Prices:
This year we are offering three sizes of shares.
The small share is approx. 5lbs /week for 10 weeks, and costs $230.
The middle share is approx. 10lbs /week for 10 weeks, and costs $370.
The large share is approx. 15lbs /week for 10 weeks, and costs $515.

Registration:
There are only a limited number of shares. Book yours today. Call 403-845-8915 or email us at w. hazell@harewaves.net.
Payment Plan:
50% deposit to be made at sign up time, and the remainder to be paid by June 15, 2017.
Delivery Locations:
Red Deer
Farm Pick-up
RockyMountainHouse
Eckville

Please note that all of our production is dependant on the weather. Crops may be early, late or completely hailed out. Therefore, there is a risk to signing up to a CSA. We try our hardest to provide a great selection and abundance of vegetables each week, however, we do battle with the climate here in Alberta.

Terms and Conditions:
• The onus is on the share holder to pick-up their share each week.
• If you miss your delivery you can pick it up the next day at the farm. After that it is forfeited as we are limited on the storage space we have. The idea is to provide fresh produce, so holding it for any length of time goes against that objective.
• If you go on holidays please make arrangements for someone else to pick-up your order. One option is to introduce a friend or family member to the CSA program by having them pick up and enjoy your share while you are away.
• Your initial order will come with a bag that needs to be returned. Subsitute bags don’t always work because they are different sizes.
If you have any other questions please feel free to email us at w. hazell@harewaves.net or call us at 403-845-8915. We look forward to partnering with you in growing your vegetables this year.
