About Laurier Heights Community League

LHCL strives to be a safe, friendly and engaged neighbourhood where building, sustaining and inspiring community is the focus LHCL welcomes and seeks the engagement of all of its members; . . . and advocates for the best interests of the whole community.

Laurier Heights Community League Description

Laurier Heights Community is one of the older, more established neighbourhoods in Edmonton. It is a wonderful place to live for both people and wildlife. The river valley borders two sides of this community, connecting it to the Valley Zoo (Edmonton's only zoo), and Sir Wilfrid Laurier Park, with its expansive lawns, picnic areas and boat launch. Both the zoo and park are significant recreational and cultural venues for the community and city.

The Canterbury Foundation has chosen Laurier Community to provide homes for those seniors in the community who can no longer live on their own. This beautiful, quiet setting also allows seniors easy access to major traffic routes, shopping centres and downtown Edmonton.

At the centre of the neighbourhood, Laurier Community Park boasts a large playground complete with spray park and well maintained tennis courts, drawing families from all three communities.

Carving jack-o-lanterns and using them as decorations is a fun activity to do with family and friends for Halloween. But what can you do with the pumpkins after Halloween?
Good news! You can have some fun this year and learn how to compost your pumpkin. Edmontonians are invited to compost pumpkins in an exciting way at Compost ‘S cool at this event. There will be games, prizes, hot chocolate and home composting information. Carve out some time for a FREE, family-friendly s...mash and compost jack-o-lantern event !
