I loved this place! Classy decor, very friendly service and the food was delicious! I had the Belgian Waffles with chocolate sauce. YUM!! Definitely coming back. Highly recommended.

I have been to Laurier a few times in the past, and it was good for the most part, but under the new chef they have hired recently I will never go back. Not sure if the management is new but seems like it is, slower service, and much less friendly staff. I always get the Bri to start which is a French tradition, unfortunalty they informed me that it was no longer avalible. I ordered the the Filet mignon de porc as a main course and expected it to take a while for it to get out but 45 minutes seems a little to much. When it did arrive it looked decent at best, lots of sauce on it. The pork itself was dry and flavorless, and a little overcooked, the sauce just made it worse as it was some generic if the shelf, bottled sauce that overpowered the pork. The mushrooms were unseasoned and again where drenched in the sauce. I only had one bite of the pork and mushrooms, and gave the other two people with me a bite of the pork and they to agreed it was sub-par. The meat was on a bed of risotto that was again very underseasoned and wattery, not made well at all. When I asked the waiter to take it away he asked what was wrong and I told him, he snuffed and gave me a look like I didn't know what I was talking about. Throughout the whole meal he very rarely came to check on us, maybe two or three times and considering we were only one of the two tables he had I felt he could have done much better, the other table was getting checked on much more regularly. When it came to dessert I ordered the Pomme poele cara and a camomile tea. Ten minutes later he comes back and tells me they don't have that tea and suggest another one, fine I get it. Not sure how hard it is to keep organized on such a slow night with 2 tables but fine I'll take the other tea. The dessert and tea come out and the tea is good and for the most part the desser is as well. The apples are well made, perfect texture, and amazing taste, the ice cream is ice cream so not much to say. The killer was the biscuit at the bottom which is normally a cinnamon or plain flavor, but this chef decided to do ginger instead, and not even a slight bit of ginger, you can smell it from the other side of the table. Very easy recipe to make, but not sure what the chef was thinking in this position to pair vainala, caramel, Apple, and ginger instead of cinnamon. Finally when the cheque arrives the waiter apologizes for the main course and and says they took care of it on the bill, which I expected they would do. I look at the bill and they gave me only 10% off, just 10%. Needless to say that the new chef alone was enough reason for me to not go back, but with everything that happened that night I will never be returing here.

It was my first time returning here since the renovation. There is still the sunroom and the outdoor patio. But the rest of the restaurant has an open concept look.

The staff was was excellent. Very friendly services and the food came out quickly. We ordered a buckwheat crepe, the croque-madame and the breakfast sandwich. All three were excellent especially the crepe. It was the best one I had in Calgary. The new menu is much more french-inspired and absolutely lovely. Plus they make an excellent cappuccino.

This is one of my favorite breakfast and brunch/spots in Calgary because I find it is never over crowded and not very mainstream one of the last hidden gems in Calgary.

I had been wanting to come here for so long at the recommendation of my mum - she raved about it! When we last tried to go it was under renovations. We finally went tonight and I was disappointed to see the decor had been completely moderinized compared to what it was before. We waited 21 minutes from the time we ordered our drinks until they came and we could order food. The food was delicious and the service was friendly however, we definitely will not be back and it's not somewhere I would ever recommend to anyone. You can get just as tasty food elsewhere for a better price. If it wasn't for our helpful server I wouldn't have even given this place 3 stars. For a heritage home that's super cute on the outside the atmosphere was totally ruined by the decor.

First time at Laurier Restaurant since this location has new ownership. Most importantly this is new not the previous Laurier Lounge it's now Laurier Restaurant!!!

Brunch was amazing I had a Waffle with amazing creamy caramel sauce and fresh whipped cream, a latte and took home an assortment of delicious pastries!! 😍

The service was great, atmosphere was fantastic. 😁 You can sit inside or on the patio, they're also open for happy hour and dinner service go check this out way better than what it was previously.

I'll be going to this spot again 100% love this place and the location is great, has parking availability too!!!

We have come by for brunch, lunch and dinner and never disappointed. The new patio expansion is really nice in all weather (since it can be a sun room in the winter). The menu is really unique for food and drinks. My favorite has to be the Laurier Brunch Plate and you can sample a little of everything: crepes, eggs benedict, hashbrowns and eggs. Only once did I have a bad experience with a server - and that's never a good reason to leave a poor review.

I'm so sad that all of my favorite things about this place are gone now that it's under new ownership: the eggs benny, the brunch plates, the hot food and quick service (we waited 1.5 hours for our crepes), the $5 mimosas, the good prices in general, the fondue, the salmon panini, and the desire to return ASAP.
Even the waitress joined me in my lament -- but it was nice to see a face that was still familiar.

I wish I would have been prepared to have the best place ever renovate and never return... Its a little embarrassing how much I stalked the website waiting for the reopening announcement!

Miss you, old Laurier Lounge.
Miss you a lot.

In other news, if anyone knows where I can get a smoked salmon eggs benny as good as the old stuff here, I'd be so glad.

My girlfriend and I have been coming to Laurier since we started seeing each other. It has been our special date night spot where we absolutely loved sharing the Fondu For Two. We anxiously awaited the new renovations to be finished so we could enjoy our favourite spot again. To our disappointment (after a very long 4 month wait) not only was the menu change and new ownership unannounced, but the heavily-priced, mediocre food was not Laurier Lounge at all. (Our bill was double of what it usually was)

This restaurant was established and return customer based and to have nothing the same without a rebranding set us up for immediate disappointment.

Laurier was also #1 for Eggs Benny in all of Calgary stated on multiple websites, to remove it completely gives us no reason to return at all.

The fondue game is on point. Great atmosphere and service as well. Gret place for date night!
