A proven 1D money winning stallion himself, LDS Unleashed has money winners from the futurity level to rodeos!

Marci & Billy Laye have long been involved in the western lifestyle, mainly through professional rodeo. Marci, a many time Canadian Finals Rodeo Barrel Racing qualifier, earned Season Leader in 1981, was the 1986 Copenhagen /Dodge Truck Champion and twice won Horse of the Year with her great barrel horse, BJ.


Billy has 13 CFR Bareback Riding qualifications to his credit and 3 National Finals Rodeo qualifications. The 1991 Canadian Bareback Champion, Billy also won the '91 Calgary Stampede $50, 000 Championship.

Both Billy and Marci have instructed clinics in their particular events. Married in 1981, the couple have one son, Cayler. The Laye family resides in central Alberta near Bashaw.

2011 marked our first year of handing out our "Unleash the Cash Program" cheques.

Niki Makofka and her futurity filly " First Star Unleashed" with their incentive prizes for 2011. The blanket and a cheque for $500. 00, is for the "BJ Brand Incentive", going to the colt who has our brand on it and is the highest money winner in the Canadian Barrel Futurity /Derby standings. Niki also won our "Unleash the Cash Incentive" She recieved the jacket she is wearing here, along with another cheque for $500. 00 for owning the colt that won the most money in the Canadian Barrel Futurity /Derby standings. Congrats to Niki and to Corleen and Rene Leclercq for that part in "Ticket's" success!

Unleashed is a own son of the #1 Barrel Horse Sire "Dash Ta Fame" who is the most talked about sire of the decade. The 22 year old son of, "First Down Dash", offspring broke records in 2010 with colts winning well over a Million Dollars! His sons and daughters have recorded more than $6. 6 million in lifetime barrel racing money. As a Maternal Grandsire, his grandget earned $121, 093 in 2010, so the second generation of these superstars is on it's way!

Unleashed's bottom sire carries a couple who's who the barrel racing world, with "Streakin Six" and "Merridoc", which we feel, not only add to an exceptional set of papers, but contribute to Unleashed's great looks!
