Leduc Hub Hope For Homeless Description

Supports for the homeless is one of the many programs operated by Leduc and District Emergency Shelter Association. As our city grows, so do the challenges of trying to make sure all of its citizens are cared for. Those that find themselves temporarily unhoused are not to be feared but be supported, whether it be by connecting them to needed services or by just offering a meal.
Often we are asked "how can I help?". If you meet someone in this position, refer them to us or the Family and Community Support Services. We urge you not to give out money but rather a gift card to McDonalds or Tim Hortons for a meal. In the winter carry extra gloves you could hand out or a toque. Above all show respect and kindness while being watchful of your safety. Remember you can't save everyone.
We operate a 'Coats for Families' program during the winter and have care kits, socks, blankets etc. to hand out.
Thank you for your interest in Hope for the Homeless. For more information call 780-739-5482.
