Lexi and Michael fell in love with the Ya Ha Tinda area while riding their horses and camping - and Lexi knew she had to get married out there! Surrounded by the rustic, untouched mountain landscape they promised to love each other for ever in front of friends and family at the beautiful Lodge at Panther River. New snow blanketed the surroundings and our high reached a “balmy” -16 degrees Celsius, but with their guests dressed for warmth and their adorable hand warmer favours - it was a wonderful way to get married in the winter.

I love when we get inquiries where the couple has taken the time to write a little about what their wedding day plans are so far - even if it’s not a lot of detail - it gives us an idea of what kind of couple they are. When Deanna and Dylan inquired last year, they mentioned that they were going for a “winter book theme." Lisa and I love reading - so being curious about what the Winter book was, I went online and found a YA series called the “Lunar Chronicles” that had a bo...ok called Winter… and then spent the next month sucked into Marissa Meyer’s fantastic new take old fairy tales. When I next heard back from Deanna and Dylan I discovered that my eyes had read it wrong - it was a wedding that takes place in the winter - with a book theme! Whoops - but I'm thankful for the awesome series I got to read because of it!
In the end Deanna and Dylan delivered the most fantastic book theme and Winter delivered her finest wintery weather! I’d say that they all made a fantastic team! We are so excited to share with you some of our favourite moments from the day!

What an incredible pleasure it was working with Conni and Lisa for our engagement and wedding photos! They were so wonderful to work with and so helpful! Lisa and Connie were absolutely amazing! Over the past couple of months we did numerous photos with them from engagement, to family photos to our wedding and every one of my family members came up to me at one point to say how awesome they are. Even our family for California mentioned after our wedding preview that " I didn't know the photos would be so artistic" and they truly are. Not only are they talented, they are compassionate and loving. Conni came all the way down to Riverside, California with us to capture our day. To start she is very organized and efficient and has scheduling photos down to an art. As I bride I can't tell you how much I appreciated that! It made picture taking a breeze and took a lot of stress off me. She had fun and original ideas and was really great at coming up with ideas on the spot to fit each location. We got our photos really quick and I honestly couldn't be happier with how they turned out!! I loved every single one she selected for us and I will treasure them forever. Personality wise she is hilarious and bubbly and honestly makes the whole experience a delight. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a local photographer or one who travels as well.
