Belated National Child Day Care! National Child Day is celebrated in Canada on November 20 in recognition of our country’s commitment to upholding the rights of children and two historic events: the 1959 signing of the UN Declaration of the Rights of the Child and the adoption of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child sets out the rights of children with 54 articles that provide us with a solid road map of what is needed to raise healthy and happy children and youth.

#Stolen All day today I have seen “ADHD” acknowledgment posts and “Teach your child about special needs” posts, and although these posts touch a piece in my heart being a Special Needs Mom. I stopped to think; what do people tell their little Jimmy about the child with ADHD or the child with Autism, etc? I would encourage you to remember yourselves before you post these acknowledgments to reach out to a special needs mom or dad, remembering we teach by example. The example ...of acceptance. The example of non-judgement. Make it more than a post you copy and paste; this October is ADHD Awareness Month. Do you just copy and paste for awareness?
