Literacy First provides assessment and programming for struggling students and consultation to schools and families who want to assist the student with reading and writing difficulties. I work collaboratively with the student, teacher, school and parents to implement a quality reading program (either in the school or in the home) that is research-based and meets the needs of the student.

As a Reading Specialist, I have specialized knowledge of assessment and diagnosis that is vital for developing and implementing a literacy program and in designing instruction for individual students. I will assess the reading strengths and needs of the student and provide information to classroom teachers, parents, and specialized personnel such as psychologists, special educators, or speech teachers, in order to provide an effective reading program for the student.
