Local Public Eatery Soco

Come and cheer for your favourite team for Super Bowl LII with your favourite Local family. We don't care who you are cheering for just that you are having a good time and we promise we won't pick sides.

What's not to love about my local watering hole. Everything from the food to the staff to the atmosphere is incredible!! Nothing but love for you guys. Crispy chicken sandwich is the bomb and nachos to boot.

Was in from out of town visiting friends and we went for dinner before going to the Oilers game. Atmosphere, service, and the food was all fantastic. Would recommend this place for sure and look forward to my next trip to Edmonton so we can go back.

This is definately the best place to go for a drink & a bite in Edmonton

Joanna Higgins the restaurant manager is my vote for top restaurant GM in YEG and Maddy is my vote for top waitress! All the servers there are really good.. food is really good.. prices are good.. and always a good time had by all. #my-cheers

Stopped here for lunch yesterday, July 10th, and OMG! The food is amazing!!! Will definitely be back!!

Recently I called to see if I could reserve tables for a large group to celebrate my birthday on a Friday. I was let know they don't do reservations on the weekend but to come a bit earlier (before my guests were to arrive) and they would try to accommodate my situation. I arrived an hour earlier and they sat us at a table and slowly as some guests left, they grouped together some tables for us. In the end we had a large group of just over 20 people and the service and food were amazing!! The manager and staff were extremely helpful and went above and beyond to make my birthday run smoothly. I would absolutely recommend this location not only for the staff but the food is great. Thanks again Local!!

Love this spot. The food is consistently good and the servers are top notch. Whomever is doing the hiring definately knows how to pick them. Yesterday we had Melissa as our server and not only does she do her job extremely well she is funny, smart and we actually stayed way longer than we intended to because we were having so much fun with her. Thanks Local for your amazing staff, tasty food and let's not forget your yummy beverages.

Great selection of beer. With rotating kegs. Food is excellent, menu changes slightly with the season, with continued favourites kept on. The ladies are proficient, knowledgeable and very good looking. Patio is great, the bar can be very loud, but I've never had to wait for a seat. It's a good space. Five friggin stars baby.

Food was great, Parrallel 49 on tap is a huge bonus. Plus they have Games to choose from so we hammered out a quick game of crib while we waited for our food lol Good times

Definitely a place I would come with friends again, the food & service was nothing short of top notch, or server Amanda was friendly, attentive, and was knowledgeable of the menu, more than helpful when I needed help with choices 😊👍🏼

An old friend was driving through Edmonton so we wanted to meet up for some food. He had his dog with him and we didn't want to leave it in the car so I called and asked if the dog could sit with us outside on the deck. They said they would reserve a spot for us next to the gate so that we could tie the dog there and have it sit next to us in the open gate. When we got there, there was also a water dish waiting for the dog as well. We really appreciated this kind of service!



I had the curry chicken & rice and my friend had the tacos. We both thought the food was excellent. I will eat here any chance I get!

Went for brunch yesterday I had "hippie " eggs on toast with avocado. Was delicious after they redid the order without hot sauce. I don't understand this fascination with putting hot sauce on everything. It was not mentioned in the description of the item, so apparently the servers have to remember to tell everyone ordering that item that there is hot sauce on it. I don't think that is very fair to them. How about not putting it on everything you cook and put the bottle of hot sauce on the table. Hubby had a Hawaiian burger with bacon and grilled pineapple which also was loaded in hot sauce but he ate it anyway even though he said that was all he could taste. Trying to be "original " by slobbering hot sauce on everything is getting old and tiresome for people whose stomachs cannot handle it! We like all the menu items there and the house wine is good and hubby likes the assortment of beer on tap available.

The food was awesome but and we'd give higher stars but we were sorely disappointed that the happy hour deal for $2.50 tacos and $2.50 beers is no more. It was the best deal ever and we loved it as did many of our friend. We hope you bring it back!!

We went to Local last night..I ordered Fish and chips after having that I was feeling sick the whole night, there was something wrong with the fish. My husband ordered a chicken sandwich and it came without chicken. They came 5 mins later and said they forgot the chicken. Chicken was greasy and deep fried a second time. He felt sick too may be the way they prepare the food. I will not eat there again. We did not make any issue about that as we went there to have a good time.

Waited a long time upon arrival with no service whatsoever.

Had to grab our own menus.

Meal tasted okay.

Waited a long time again for bill.

Server brings back our cash payment but has only broken it down into smaller increments of the same amount we paid her.

Tells us to "figure out the cost ourselves".

Atleast we didn't have to figure out the cost of the tip...

My boyfriend & I went to local, We both wanted to order food & drinks however we only got served drinks. We waited 40 minutes for someone to come back and take our orders and refill our drinks. Unfortunately no one came until 40 minutes after. We both wanted to leave by then. Brutal service.

Horrible service here. I don't recommend. It's usually nothing great, but not knowing who your server is, and finally getting your drink after you finish your meal is pretty bad. I emailed the manager on the website, who never bothered to get back to me. Shows how much he cares!

Have come here multiple times, loved the baja tacos. Ordered a burger and my partner ordered fish and chips,and I tried a bite of her food. About 15minutes after our meal I started feeling sick, told my partner and she told me she was feeling very nauseous. Called the server over and said we arent feeling well and that to just make sure if the fish is kept together that the rest of the batch is ok as we both are feeling very nauseous and don't want other customers to have the same fate. Server then informed us the manager talked to the chef, who said nothing is wrong with the fish. The manager didn't even come talk to us themselves. We weren't looking for a cut on our bill (I had gotten a gift card as it's known i love local) and were very taken aback that we were apparently written off for being two 20-something year olds looking for a hand out when we were just trying to make sure no one else had a bad meal. Doubt we will ever come or suggest this place to anyone again.
