Next Saturday at 10:30pm join us for an evening with the incredible Ryan Belleville! One night only! You're gonna wanna mark this one on your calendars!
Loose Moose Alumni and star of CBCs Workin Moms, CBC’s The Debaters, and Just for Laughs returns to where he got his start to perform and explore, and have fun. Every couple years he comes back to Loose Moose with a stack of new ideas and just plays for an hour. Often strange, and chaotic, and always a fun night, this is a r...are appearance.
GQ magazine said he’s not only one of the best Canadian comedians, but one of the best comics working today.

✨IT’S TIME FOR MOOSER MONDAY!✨ This week we highlight the super cool and amazing Dave Ware!
1. How long have you been at the Moose? I’ve been with Loose Moose for about 32 years, with a few “sabbaticals” along the way.
... 2. What position do you typically fill at the theatre? I think I’ve filled almost every role at the theatre (including janitor and dry ice machine operator.) I spent a number of years working on becoming a decent commentator, and worked pretty much every tech and Front of House role. These days I enjoy performing, and helping out with Front of House, usually in a floating “how can I help” role.
3. What brought you to the Moose? I started volunteering with the Moose after watching some shows when I was in 10th grade. I started working on kids shows, and expanded from there.
4. What’s your day job? For my day job, I run a consulting company that specializes in reporting and processes for oil and gas companies. On the side, I create and sell creations made from Lego.
5. What is your favourite part about the Loose Moose? My favorite thing about the Moose is the people. I perform with people I’ve known for decades, as well as making new friends all the time.
Check out Dave in action on Saturday nights at 8pm at the Loose Moose Theatre!

✨IT’S TIME FOR ANOTHER MOOSER MONDAY!✨ This week we feature the hilarious and Uber talented Immanuela Lawrence!
1. How long have you been at the Moose? I joined Loose Moose in 2007. Eleven years ago! Woot?
... 2. What position do you typically fill? Nowadays I only perform because I have little kids at home. But I used to be very active in marketing, promo and press and organizing special events like the Homecoming festival. I love to usher. Ushering is great because you get to watch performances. There's so much you can learn from just watching others.
3. What brought you to the Moose? I used to live in Montreal where I was part of an impro community run by former Moosers Eric Amber and Dave Lawrence. I ended up marrying one of them (Dave Lawrence) and moving to Calgary. He encouraged me to continue improvising at the Moose but I was very intimidated at first.
4. What’s your day job? I'm a writer for the most part. But I also teach and perform and I'm raising two very demanding humans.
5. What is your favourite part about the Loose Moose? The Loose Moose is a place where I can continue to study the craft of impro, comedy and storytelling. Anytime I go, I learn something new. Sometimes it's rough, sometimes its the best feeling in the world, so it keeps me on my toes. I'm a very sensitive person, so performing and improvising helps me keep perspective. Also, it's like an instant social life. Suddenly you can access a community of people of all ages. I love being able to see what life is like for someone in high school or what life is like for someone who does construction. For a creator, it's an amazing pool of inspiration and talent.

✨IT’S TIME FOR ANOTHER MOOSER MONDAY✨ This week we highlight the amazing and talented Sean Allen!
1. How long have you been at the Moose? I started at Loose Moose when I was 17, about 8 years ago.
... 2. What position do you typically fill? If I'm not performing I'll either be doing concession, or I'll be up in the booth doing sound for shows!
3. What brought you to the Moose? Andrew Phung came to my high school and taught improv workshops where I would essentially do agent Michael Scarn every scene. He encouraged us to come to the moose if we enjoyed it! I was pretty timid and was off and on until I was about 20, when I dove head first into being part of the moose.
4. What’s your day job? I work as a software developer in downtown Calgary.
5. What is your favourite part about the Loose Moose? I love all the wonderful, talented, passionate, hilarious people that seem to just gravitate towards the moose! I've made so many friends, met my partner, and shared more laughs than I can count at Loose Moose 🙂
Come check out Sean in action on Friday nights at 8pm for Micetro Impro!

✨ITS TIME FOR ANOTHER MOOSER MONDAY✨ This week we highlight the amazing Elizabeth Wood!
1. How long have you been at the Moose? I started volunteering at the Moose in February of 1989 😳; I worked as the Front of House Manager from 1993 to 1998;
... 2. What position do you typically fill? Currently I volunteer as the Front of House Manager every other Saturday, which allows Deb and, occasionally Dennis, a night off. I have also done concession, ushering, box office, lights, sound, back stage, and stage management. I’ve even done a tiny bit of performing. But I’m more of a behind-the-scenes person
3. What brought you to the Moose? My first adult Moose show was TheatreSports. Dave Ware was the commentator and was talking about the Moose always looking for volunteers. I decided to sign up. I may have also found myself attracted to the Danish Game moderator and wanted to meet him.
4. What’s your day job? I am a bookkeeper/accountant by day
5. What is your favourite part about the Loose Moose? The Moose is like a big family - particularly back in the nineties. We did so many things together - dinners at Chianti and Boston Pizza, movies at Eau Claire, dancing at the Republik, soccer at Riley Park ... I’ve met so many people and made so many friends. Not just Moosers but people from around the world!

✨ITS TIME FOR ANOTHER MOOSER MONDAY✨ This week we highlight the incredible Michael Dean Dargie!
1. How long have you been at the Moose? I remember popcorn, McKnight Boulevard, “The Battered Seal Pups”, and “The Roman Polanski Memorial Foundation””. I started taking classes in 1980 until 1985 then took some time off to graduate from High School, do some stuff, raise a family, get divorced, and move back to Calgary. I’ve been back at the Moose almost five years.
... 2. What position do you typically fill? I try to do it all; I love performing in Kids Shows; Sound and Lighting Tech whenever needed; Perform, Host, Emcee, and Commentate in every show I can; I pour a mean Village Draught as a bartender; not great at Box Office ‘cuz math is hard.
3. What brought you to the Moose? My dad took me to the Moose at the tender age of 10 when we first moved to Calgary in 1979. Keith Johnstone and The Loose Moose Theatre Company literally shaped my life as it is today.
4. What’s your day job? I own a creative agency specializing in brand strategy and story telling.
5. What is your favourite part about the Loose Moose? This question is crazy. How do I pick? I love how supportive of the human experience everyone is. We’re trained to accept we’re fallible, awkward, and failing —and that’s okay. When you’re a part of the Moose you come to accept failing isn’t a bad thing if done with grace, humility, and a healthy dose of humour. Loose Moose is my ridiculous extended family of misfits.
Come check out Michael Fridays at 8pm for micetro impro!

AUDITION NOTICE
The Loose Moose Theatre is holding general auditions for our Theatre for Kids productions this fall. These are unpaid roles and open to anyone 16 years of age and older. The Ugly Duckling runs Saturdays at 1 PM and Sundays 1 PM & 3 PM from September 22 to October 14 and rehearsals will begin on approximately August 26. Rumpelstilskin runs Saturdays at 1 PM and Sundays 1 PM & 3 PM from November 3 - 24 and rehearsals will begin October 8. Rehearsals will be sche...duled for weekday evenings and weekends (approximately 18 – 20 rehearsals for each production). Each production will also have two extra performances during the run for Jamie's Preschool (usually a Saturday at 11 AM) and the Alberta Children's hospital (at the hospital usually late Saturday afternoon/early evening).
Auditions will be held at the Loose Moose Theatre on Wednesday, August 8 from 7 – 10 PM and Saturday, August 11 from 1 – 4 PM, and you can audition for either or both productions. There are no scripts for our Theatre for Kids productions. Improvisation is used in the rehearsal process to develop the show, and the structure and content of the show is set by the time it goes in front of an audience. Improvisation experience is useful, but not essential.
For the audition performers will be asked to work through various scenarios, so no preparation for the audition is required. We request that you only audition if you can commit to the full rehearsal and production dates. You can audition for either show or both.
Please contact us at mail@loosemoose.com to book an audition time, or if you have any questions.

✨IT'S TIME FOR ANOTHER MOOSER MONDAY✨ This week we highlight the amazing Djoeke! 1. How long have you been at the Moose? I joined the theatre in 2005 when I was 16-years-old
... 2. What volunteer position do you typically fill at the theatre? I usually perform on Friday nights, but I also do a lot of work with our kids shows. Behind the scenes, I am part of the company’s marketing team and also serve as our company class coordinator.
3. What brought you to the Moose? I always loved being involved with theatre of all sorts. When I was 16, I was competing in a high school theatre sports tournament in High River. The judging panel was comprised of senior company members from Loose Moose. After the show, a couple of them approached me about joining CHIL (the Calgary High School Improv League) which was the youth program at the time. I tried out a few classes and before I knew it I was performing on Friday nights.
4. What’s your day job? By day, I’m a creative writer for Rogers Radio. It entails writing and voicing commercial content for their Calgary and Canmore stations.
5. What is your favourite part about the Loose Moose? Loose Moose is an escape for me. Whether I’ve had a great week or a lousy one, it’s the place I can let go of everything and just have fun. I always leave the moose in a better mood than I came in with.
Thanks Djoeke for all that you do!! Come check out micetro impro on Fridays at 8pm!

... 2. What position do you typically fill (performer, tech, FOH, etc) Performing, but I used to regular do sound tech, and I still enjoy ushering.
3. What brought you to the Moose? We used to go up to the Simplex by the airport to watch Theatresports, and then friends of mine had a high school theatre team. Fun fact, my songwriting partner was on that high school team.
4. What’s your day job? I’m an elementary teacher.
5. What is your favourite part about the Loose Moose? It’s hard to find opportunities to laugh until I cry, the Moose is my resource for that. And fart jokes.

✨IT’S TIME FOR ANOTHER MOOSER MONDAY ✨ This week we highlight regular performer and the youngest player in our Senior Ensemble--Alexa MacKell! 1. How long have you been at the Moose? I'm quickly approaching my fourth year at the Moose, but it seriously feels like no time at all.
... 2. What volunteer position do you typically fill at the theatre? Usually I'm a performer, but recently I've faced my fears and worked concession. I also act in some of our kids shows and Chrismoose Carol!
3. What brought you to the Moose? I competed in the 2014 High School Theatresports Tournament at the Moose. My team came fourth and I felt a bit defeated, but Andrew Phung encouraged me to come back to the theatre and thankfully I listened!
4. What’s your day job? I'm a student finishing up an English degree at St. Mary's University throughout the year and summer camp counsellor during the summer.
5. What is your favourite part about the Loose Moose? My favourite part about the Loose Moose is the opportunity we as performers are given to make people laugh and to allow them to forget about their problems, even momentarily. The people at the Loose Moose are some of the best people in the world and I'm so lucky to be a part of such a magical place. LONG LIVE THE MOOSE.
You can come see Alexa in action on Friday nights at 8pm for Micetro Impro, or select Saturdays at 8pm for The Spin!
