Couples, puppies, horses..... what doesn’t this photo have?! That’s all of my favourite things in one! I’ll never get over this fun session with this amazing couple, their new puppy named Joy 🐶 and their horses!
Sarah said it best when she wrote “Get you a photographer that still makes you look good even though your boyfriend just stepped off the combine 15 minutes ago, your horses are acting like someone laced their water, your puppy just peed on you, and you’re literally sweating from running in heels.” 😂❤️

Hey Facebook friends! How’ve you been? I realized today that it’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted anything, but that’s okay! It’s healthy to have a break from social media every once in a while, and considering how busy I’ve been I reaaaally needed it. It’s that time of year where us photographers are hustling to finish up all of the weddings and fall sessions from the super busy season, and for me the shoots haven’t slowed down much yet either!
I still have so much that I’m excited to share, but for now here’s one of my favourite ring shots from the summer which I miss SO terribly. Anybody else not a fan of the cold and having to drop a grand for new winter tires? 🙋🏼‍♀️

IT’S SNEAK PEEK TIME AGAIN!! 👰🏻🤵🏼💍
I cannot even express how perfect Saturday’s Elkwater wedding was! The bride looked absolutely stunning in both of her chosen dresses (gotta keep it comfortable for the reception) and her groom even commented that she looked like Marilyn Monroe in the second one which I definitely agreed with! The way he looked at her all day was so adorable. 😍 We were expecting it to be cold with possibly rain or snow, but it turned out to be quite nice wit...h only a tiny bit of rain during the ceremony, which of course is said to be good luck! 😉 There was some snow on the ground but the fall vibes were strong 🍂 and I had so much fun with the bridal party who had amazing energy and was willing to try whatever I asked, even if they had to do it a few times! 🙈 There was plenty of laughter, happy tears, and even some moments where they broke out into song! I would happily live this day over and over again. ❤️

My first ever workshop is over and I’m so sad to leave all of my new friends but so happy with the amazing experience I had and all of the things I’ve learned! Sometimes I have an idea in my mind for a shot that I really want to bring to life, and even more rarely I will have the opportunity to actually try it. This photo is one of those ideas. I had a vision in my mind for the exact location, composition, outfit and pose. I envisioned the water being perfectly still and reflecting a beautiful summer sunset as I have seen it before in this exact spot.
However when the day came it turned out to be overcast, with a storm that had jus...t passed leaving hail still melting and another storm on the way (which brought some pretty cool lightening later on). To be honest I was a little sad that I wouldn’t get that summer sunset or the still water, but now looking at the finished image I’m so glad that it turned out the way it did! I love the moodiness added by the storm clouds and rippling water, and I think it really brings some emotion to the shot that might not have been there otherwise. Moral of the story: Don’t worry if something isn’t perfect or exactly what you wanted - everything happens for a reason and maybe it will turn out even better than planned! 💙

Hey, did you miss me?!
It’s that time of year where I have so much to share, but no time to share it! I’ve also got a mountain of editing still to catch up on, which is funny because I literally just got back home from the mountains! 🏔 I’m going to need to hibernate this winter to catch up on all the sleep I’ve missed. 😅
It’s all worth it though and I have so many exciting things in the works to share when I can! Until then here’s another fave from this engagement session where the light was STUNNING! ❤️

Let’s talk for a minute about what REALLY matters on your wedding day. And I’m sure you know, it’s not about the flowers, the dress, or having the most perfect venue. All that really matters is the reason that you’re having a wedding in the first place, and that is of course because you fell in love with your best friend in the whole world, and you want to spend the rest of your lives together.
Now that’s a really big deal, and as I saw with this beautiful bride right here, ...there is a moment where it hits you. Sarah had her mom tie up her dress and put her necklace on as a finishing touch, and after they hugged Sarah was left alone (with me lurking of course) to finally take a look at herself all done up in the mirror and instantly I saw her tear up. I knew that was the moment she let it sink in that she was about to get married, and I could feel in this moment just by looking at her standing in front of this mirror - taking it all in and trying not to ruin her makeup - just how excited, relieved, and blissfully happy she was all at once.
This is what I mean when I say that I don’t just want to capture how everything looked on your wedding day, but rather how it felt to be there in that moment. These are the photos that really matter and that bring me so much joy to be able to do this work. It’s easy to get caught up in the details, but don’t forget to get caught up in the MOMENTS, fleeting as they are. ❤️

Ever since I’ve taken this beautiful mama and her husband up to this spot it’s become one of my favourite places to photograph. If it weren’t for all the bees I’d come here just to read, stare at the amazing view and watch the sunset just thinking about life. I’ve had to make one of those hard life decisions recently, and while it’s been tough I’ve also learned a lot. I’ve never been more grateful for the family and friends in my life. ❤️

One week ago these two amazing tattoo artists with the same first name also took on the same last name! Mr. And Mrs. Jordan Blom had such a beautiful and fun wedding day out at Elkwater, filled with references from “The Office” (which happens to be one of my favourite shows) and breakfast for supper (which happens to be my favourite meal). I think it’s safe to say this was one of my favourite weddings to date, and I can’t wait to share even more images fro...m this amazing day!

Happy Fri-Yay!! It’s time for another wedding sneak peek! 💕
Tamara and Chance tied the knot this past Saturday and had the MOST beautiful backyard wedding at the bride’s family farm. You might recognize Tamara as she was the 2013 Medicine Hat Stampede Princess! It’s no surprise that she also won the award for “Most Photogenic”. ❤️ I had so much fun with this group of awesome humans, from getting to meet the brides very own stunning horse to riding in the fire truck that the g...room captains out at his own family farm!
I’m so happy that I got to be a part of their wedding day and I absolutely cannot wait to share more!
Special thanks to Tamara’s dad and brother for helping me out with the dress shots (since I’m so short 🙈) and just being great assistants for me while the girls got ready!

This review is long overdue, but I’m still so obsessed with the amazing pictures that Lorissa took during our session! She was so fun to work with, and is so willing to try new ideas! I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for any variety of photos to get done �

She is an amazing photographer. She worked great with my little baby and went with the flow when he wasn't cooperating. I would definitely get more pictures done by her.

Lorissa is incredible! For the shoot I went in thinking my daughter and I were the most unphotogenic pair, but I got our photos today and my opinion is the complete opposite. � All of our genuine smiles, and happy moments were captured. Despite the toddler moods near the end, Lorissa still took her time with us to get as many photos as she could - which still turned out great! I could not have chosen a better photographer for our photos. My family will be going back to her for more photos in the future, without a doubt!

Lorissa is amazing! She toughed it out in the cold so we could have snow photos!!Even when the camera died, she met us for another warmer day! She has lots of ideas, and she makes you feel comfortable.

If I could give Lorissa more than 5 stars I definitely would! On a chilly December afternoon we did a couples shoot and I can’t thank her enough for our amazing gallery! She had great locations and so many different poses, the whole process was so effortless because of her! I would highly recommend her and will most definitely be using her again as a photographer in the future �

Gosh I don't even know where to begin. Lorissa was so incredible and went above and beyond by helping pull of my surprise engagement. Props to her and my fiancé because I had no idea they'd planned it all. Lorissa was super professional, had tons of cute ideas for poses and chose a location I LOVED. The posed photos and candid photos both turned out well beyond my expectations and I honestly can't stop looking at them. The quality is fabulous (you can even see a tear on my cheek in one �), she had multiple angles and she did a great job making poses not look awkward. Any time anyone asks for a photographer, she will be my number 1 recommendation. Can't wait to have her for our wedding �.
