Join Keestin as he presents his research on "The Sexualization of Indigenous Women and Girls as Halloween Costumes" as part of Sexual Violence Awareness Week and the National Day of Honouring Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women. The session will be held on Thursday, October 4, 11-12pm in Room 9-207!

October 4 is the National Day to Honour the lives of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG); kihêw waciston will be hosting events on this day in collaboration with Sexual Violence Awareness Week. One event will be "Jingle Dress Creation to Honour MMIWG". Join us as we build a community jingle dress in honour of and dedicated to friends and family of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls with each jingle attached. The Dreamcatcher Aboriginal Youth Conference is providing a volunteer opportunity for MacEwan students, see post for details! Applications are available at kihew waciston, either via email or in-person! Deadline to apply is today!

Pipe ceremony to be held at Paul Byrne Hall at 3:00pm and the Round Dance in the gymnasium from 6:00pm-10:30pm. The Aboriginal Education Centre has been a huge contributing factor to my success as a full time student here at MacEwan University! I highly recommend all students aboriginal or non-aboriginal to check it out and enjoy all the perks the AEC has to offer!

I am a MacEwan alumni. During my time as a student I became involved with the AEC and it was to my great benefit.

AEC was a great part of my success while attending MacEwan, I feel that through the center I became more centered and more in touch with my traditional Aboriginal roots

Jerry Woods, the elder at the time nurtured deeper roots to my Spiritual growth and being.

I look forward to meeting the new faces of MacEwan AEC

Great place to relax, study and grab a cup of coffee. They have weekly events in the centre for everyone. If you need support they have counselors and advisers that are available and willing to listen.

An amazing gathering place for indigenous students to find resources and a place to relax and visit. <3
