We my wife and I Randy Heckenlaible went to the Opening Ceremonies and watch the Hungary Calgary game. Sorry Calgary Hungary has got a bigger team!! Task is to take less penalties and more hitting, finish those checks!! Howee Meeker hockey as in rock em sock but no penalties. Great time and great service by staff and Volunteers. Hope to see more games this week. Thanks Bonnie Reinbold again

I Wich I was a midget hockey player it's cool those young athletes

User

Great work so those of us that aren't close by can still follow the world's best midget hockey tournament. Wish I could've been in Max Bell for the opening ceremonies!

To those asking if U17 clubs have come in the past the answer is yes. Also for many years the age groupings of American hockey leagues also made those rosters older than their Canadian counterparts. The Swiss have come several times and always been a delight to watch.

User

Great tournament where you’ll see some great hockey played by some of the future stars of the hockey world! 🥅🏒🇨🇦😎

User

Great tournament and we'll run. I would recommend this event to all hockey teams

User

This was my first experience at the Mac's tourney. Kudos to the organizers. I'm not as negative as some of the other reviewers. It's a showcase of AAA Midget hockey. It's a great experience for the players to play at this level. I don't think this tournament should just be about what team wins and whether it is competitive/fair for a "national" team to attend. The website archive isn't broken. Team Sweden won in 2005. Club international teams have also won in the past. A Finland Candidates team won in 1993. I hope this isn't sour grapes because two international teams were at the top. That's like complaining that Canada doesn't win the world juniors every year.

User

The games I watched on Friday were good stuff. A lot of young men and women highly skilled and intent. I really enjoyed the fast pace play. The food, however, was terrible. Thank gawd for ketchup. I think next year, I'll being a lunch.

User

So far enjoying the tournament a lot. Contrary to what you will hear on the International U17 teams, they will not run away with the tournament.

Actually they will be lucky to win.

User

Great tournament. Think some teams have to research the competition. For the most part competitive. If I had to make suggestions, parking lot clearing although extremely difficult with amount of snow, consistency in concession quality and pricing a hot dog had a different price at one end of rink yo the other, advertise Facebook page or have regular updates for scores. Our family saw 14 games including final and will be back every year. Keep up the amazing work and quality of the tournament as the last 40 years.

User

Great tournament from Strathmore cheering on the CFR Bisons never miss a game it is great hockey. I agree the parking lot at Max Bell needs to be cleaned for a tournament of this size this is an embarrassment to all the organizers and a danger for people that have trouble walking let alone those of us who are capable but kudos to the committee great hockey as always.

User

Great to have such international flavour.

User

Best hockey tournament around for sure. But debit should be at all gates cause who has cash these days. Also which isn't Macs tournament issue but City of Calgary, they need to get someone into the parking lot and remove the snow. Parking is crazy enough as it is but add the snow and it's impossible to park, walk and drive.

User

The hockey is great, the facility and its operations could be better. The stands could use some staff picking up food and garbage through out the day, the parking lot could be cleaned much better at night to make parking spots identifiable and would not hurt to have parking staff available to direct traffic. Again the hockey has been great, the officiating has been good and it is a world class tournament!

User

This was my very first experience attending the macs tourney. I agree with others on inviting U-17 National teams. We rather need better coaching and less politics, have the talented kids playing and not bought on to a team that they don't have the talent to play at, at this level of hockey.
