MAHOGANY RINK UPDATE: Dec 19 3:00pm temperature +8 degrees. Our rink ice is taking a beating and has receded quite a ways back from the boards at the North end. Trying to preserve what we have. Hopefully we will not lose anymore tomorrow (Thurs) before weather turns late Friday in our favour as per weather network. It’s is worth noting that all the HOAs and RAs are running into to their own issues and very few have their rinks open. The City of Calgary outdoor rinks are no...t open at this point in time as they have the same issue of warm weather. Like us they are anticipating the colder weather in hope of having them open for Christmas. LAKE UPDATE: Same as yesterday preparing ice and flooding this morning to build ice up and creating a good ice surface. Please note RED FLAGS ARE OUT. Red means NO going on the lake. Looks like Christmas came early for the Mahogany Fishing Committee!
We can’t wait to get out on the ice and put our new ice fishing equipment to great use at our upcoming community events. Hope to see everyone there!

MAHOGANY ICE RINK UPDATE Dec 18 3:30pm +8 degrees. The rink today the ice is to soft to walk on. Hoping to freeze again this evening. The weather is saying Friday night -7 will be able to put some ice down on Saturday hopefully and work over the next 3 or 4 days to have good ice. That’s our #1 wish on Santa’s list.
LAKE ICE UPDATE Today the ice is at 7 inches. Our ice maker has been out clearing a space on the lake for rinks at WB and MB and will start flooding areas to bui...ld ice up over the next few days and into the weekend.
RED FLAGS ARE OUT WHICH MEANS NO going on the lake as still open or very ice.
