Maki Maki Description
Maki Maki was first introduced to the Edmonton restaurant scene in January of 2009. This was the year that Ann Chang would fulfill her vision of opening Edmonton’s first and only Japanese and Vietnamese restaurant. Wanting to “mix it up”, Ann and her team at Maki Maki just off Whyte Avenue on the south of the city are proud to have a fusion of both popular Asian foods and also have western items on the menu for those who prefer fries over pho.
Maki Maki stays open late on weekends, until 2am! Encouraging the welcoming atmosphere are drink specials in the lounge that now has its own unique vibe, complimentary to the restaurant. The lounge is now available for private party reservations with a generous patio for the summer.
At Maki Maki you can expect the highest quality sushi flown in fresh from the coast, delicately prepared for visual as well as palatable pleasure, and served with a genuine smile. Thank you Edmonton for your continued loyalty. It is our honour to serve you the best sushi in Edmonton!

This place. My god. First of all, they were playing all my 90s jams, Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys, Britney, everyone you really need in your life. The staff was super friendly and we got seated right away. Then, our sushi came out. Guys. IT WAS ON A TINY WOODEN BOAT!!! A boat of sushi. Seriously, a measurement of sushi I never knew I needed, until that moment. Green onion cakes? Oh you better believe they were straight up DELORCIOUS! Yes. Delorcious. It’s a few steps up from delicious. I ate so much sushi, like past the point of comfort, and still had leftovers. If you love yourself, you will get your ass over to Maki Maki and TREAT YO’SELF!

The meal was amazing... large portions of sashimi, the udon soup was flavourful, everything was awesome... staff is friendly and very accommodating
My girlfriend and I live just a couple blocks from this place. It is our go-to when we don't feel like cooking. They food is always excellent, the service is great, and the staff are all super nice. We usually go for some rolls or sashimi. They have a huge selection of rolls and they are all delicious. Once in a while though I grab a nice big bowl of Pho which is also excellent. Would definitely recommend!

I love the sushi here. It is so fresh and beautiful. I always order deja-Vu, rainbow roll, beef tatake, salmon sashimi and especially the ramen. I will come back for sure.
I love makimaki. Good food good service.i can eat at makimaki everyday such as deja vu roll, rainbow roll, beef tatake, miso soup, tuna tatake,salmon sashimi, mai maki roll,Mexican roll, ...
Plus the beef noodle soup is so good too.
I had the salmon sashimi, tobiko nagiri, and special scallop nagiri-then I had the exact same thing a second time. This salmon sashimi was beautifully presented as were the four pieces of nagiri. When your food comes with a beautiful orchid in the side you hesitate to dive in. I’m not a foodie picture person but that needed a photo!

Definitely my personal favourite sushi restaurant in Edmonton. Have not tried the Vietnamese part of the menu, but the Japanese and sushi are out of this world. Service is always great, and we've gone so much the servers know us now. Try the avocado roll, dragon eye roll, caterpillar roll, or the deja vu roll. Really though, any of the maki here are fantastic, never had a bad one. Highly recommend this place.
The food is good and quick but the staff don’t know their drink menu. Nice little quiet place - perfect for a date!
The food is delicious and generously served. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Will definitely a go to for ramen or pho! A bit pricey for 8 pieces of sashimi. Otherwise its a good place to eat.

Menu is crap, too many cross culinary items, no Vietnamese restaurant should have sushi and burgers on the menu with over 120 other items. Had the pho here, figured it would be a safe bet, it was super weak.
Terrible customer service and even worse food, extremely disappointing.
Ordered green onion cakes, vegetarian pho, and a couple sushi rolls. The rice of the sushi roll is not good. Way to much rice vinegar. The green onion cakes were doughy and tasteless. The pho does not taste vegetarian at all. Pretty sure they just used beef broth and added in the noodles. They are lucky im not allergic to beef. Not happy with the food quality.
