About Malcolm Tubb Photography

A serious amateur photographer with the courage to travel afar and live with the locals, but lacking the courage to give up his day job.

Malcolm Tubb Photography Description

A Visual Storyteller, Malcolm approaches his work with a deep sense of responsibility and privilege. Whether fishing for piranhas in the Amazon, exploring temples and ruins in the Rio Venta in Chiapas, Mexico, or chasing camels with herders in Rajathstan, he has an uncanny ability to recall in great detail the surroundings, the sounds, the emotions and the aromas he experienced with each image. Warm rain, light bursting through the canopy in the rainforest, the texture of well-worn hands of Mayan weavers spinning their wool, or the quiet calm of morning prayer on the Ghats with the fragrance of sweet chai piercing the cool morning air—all serve to arouse the senses and bring a story to his visual imagery.
Malcolm shares intimate relationships with his locales and their subjects through his photography. He considers the capture and preservation of an image a privilege in itself, but the stories and their circumstance are what bring out their souls and give them life—the signature of Malcolm’s work.
