Marda Loop Business Improvement Area

With over 150 trendy shops, boutiques and restaurants, and wellness and professional services, Marda Loop is a walkable, street-level shopping district in the heart of southwest Calgary. We are located along 33rd and 34th Avenues and between Crowchild Trail and 18th Street SW, and along Garrison Gate SW. The Marda Loop Business Improvement Area (BIA) was founded by local businesses in 1984 (as Marda Loop BRZ - Business Revitalization Zone). Businesses pay a levy to support the BIA's mission - to maintain, improve and promote Marda Loop. The BIA is governed by a Board of business members who are elected at the AGM, and managed by an Executive Director. The Marda Gras Street Festival, our signature event, happens on the second Sunday in August, and we have other events and promotions throughout the year.
