Maria Horvath is a Hungarian immigrant with 18 years of experience owning /operating Athlone Liquor Store, the largest wine store in Edmonton. Five years ago, She was driving in the fast growing downtown Calgary and saw a ”for lease” sign in the up and coming uptown downtown area.

As a Wine enthusiast and a former Realtor in Calgary she saw a great opportunity to realize her dreams for another fine wine establishment. She set about collecting wines from around the world, designed the interior to her specifications and Maria’s Fine Wines and spirits opened in October 2004.
