My passion for photography began in grade 5 when my mom signed me up for an after–school photography program. My schoolmates and I had no idea what we were doing but the adventure wasn’t lost on us. To have a film camera in our hands, a fairly expensive item to be lent to a child, and have the freedom to be creative was exactly what a child’s imagination is made of. We loved developing our own masterworks; finally seeing what we photographed and showing it to our parents with pride. Priceless.
I’ve since grown up, accepted Christ Jesus as my Saviour, and photography became a wonderful tool of worship. Love of creation, nature and people alike, became precious to me and photography allows me to capture that beauty.
A photograph evokes all sorts of emotions; it is a keepsake of what was. I long for my work to tell stories that come along with life. Sad, happy or funny, they are all worthy to be remembered. For me as a believer these fleeting moments are a daily reminder of a great and mighty God.
