This is a fantastic opportunity to meet the volunteer Community Board and find out what we've been up to, as well as the plans for the future. We will be introducing our new Playground Revitalization Director, Janell Hurdman. Representatives from the City, Calgary Police, Peter Demong's office, and Ric McIver's office will also be present to give a report to the community.
We are looking for a Communications Director to manage our website and maybe start a Twitter account! If you are interested, this is a great time to volunteer!
Everyone is welcome! A community membership is not required to attend. See you there!

Attn: Residents of Mt. Douglas Pt and the NE portion of Mt. McKenzie Dr. We recently discovered that Canada Post re-zoned your area last spring. As part of mailing route SS0059, you no longer receive our community newsletter, the McKenzie Gazette. Instead you may have noticed the newsletter for Douglasdale/Glen in your mailbox! We are lobbying to have your street re-zoned back into route SS0042. If you would like to lend your voice to the effort, please contact Canada Post via their Facebook Page or call customer service: 1-866-607-6301 In the meantime, the McKenzie Gazette is always available online at our our Community Website: www.mckenzielakecommunity.com

Volunteers will be delivering bags in McKenzie Lake - and the rest of Calgary - over the next couple of days. If you would like to participate, please leave your bag filled with non-perishable food on your doorstep on Saturday morning for pick-up. Thank you to everyone in advance for your generosity!

User

A HUGE THANK YOU to the organizers, sponsors, and many volunteers who made the Frenzie a success! It was tremendous event and we hope everyone had a great time! Feel free to post your photos and comments on this thread. We'll put up our own photos and shout-outs to sponsors over the next week. We can't wait to do it all again next year!

The weather looks fabulous for our McKenzie Frenzie tomorrow! Drop in between 11-3 for free family fun at the community centre! There will be bouncy houses, a petting zoo, and free BBQ. Support local vendors by perusing the tables in the gymnasium. Thank you in advance to our volunteers and sponsors! Many people have asked if a community membership is required to attend. The answer is no. However, we do hope you will consider buying one just the same. For only $25/family you can support events like this one (and our Halloween Family Dance next month!) as well as receive discounts to many programs. It's easy to purchase your membership at our website: www.mckenzielakecommunity.com

Feb 23rd and I’m pretty sure not a single drop of water has touched the out door rink this winter, I’ve been told it is because of weather....it’s winter. Every other rink in south Calgary has been flooded and well maintained Shawnessy, Deer run, Mill Rise, Kingsland, Woodbine, Breaside, Haysboro, all DO NOT have ice plants and have been flooded and maintained for months now. Ive personally volunteered to put work in and have not heard anything. Seems like total Canadian waste to me I understand the lake is across the street but come on. My phone number is (587) 433-4449 if anyone has any info
