I LOVE MEC!!
They've got something for every activity, and (especially useful around the holiday season) something for everyone on your shopping list! Today, I bought ski socks, chocolate (they have the world's best chocolate), and a bunch of yoga stuff! Where else can you find all that in one place?

Went to MEC for hiking boots. They didn't have my size in the boot I wanted so I went across the street to Atmosphere where I found the same boot in my size for 40$ less!! There was another customer in Atmosphere that I recognized from MEC who had the same experience. Then I looked at the price I paid at MEC for a headlamp. 6$ less at Atmosphere.

This is a great store if you already have a good idea of what you are looking for. If you are there for advice it is very hit and miss.
When you happen to get the attention of a knowledgeable staff member they are great at their job. Too many times though I have not been able to get the help from someone that actually knows what they are talking about. Despite this I will continue to shop here having done my own research as they CAN be helpful, have great products and even better store policies.

TONS of selection and everyone working there truly wants to be there and has passion for the outdoors. Great prices and they source their products from places with very high ethical standards. Makes me feel good to shop here

Awesome store with gear for all your outdoor needs. Can't vouch for all employees but from the ones I've conversed with I can say are. Very knowledgeable in their respective departments and. Greatly helped me determine the right gear for my needs. Will be shopping here again!! PS: $5 mandatory to sign up for lifetime membership to buy items.. Also parking lot requires $$

Staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. I had a couple questions that were pretty specific and a little obscure. I liked how the staff I was talking to didn't try to guess at the answer like many people do when they don't know. Instead he asked a co-worker. Very helpful indeed.

Great outdoor products, great advice. Items can be a little pricey, but the quality is there. I've bought tents, backpacks, shoes, towels, and so many other items from there. My favorite outdoor outfitter in Canada.

The location is the only reason this isn't getting five stars. Great selection, super knowledgeable staff, and wonderfully airy store with room to move. But parking SUCKS and with so many outfitters in the industrial areas it's rare we come downtown unless we have to warranty something here.

I come here for camping and hiking items. Today I went to the climbing area to see what could be found for a rigging project at work. I mentioned up front that is what I was looking for and the guy was more than helpful in giving me a brief lesson on how to set up the hardware. After we do a few dry runs with the setup at work this should go quite well.

Passionate staff that live the lifestyle they sell. I am a member here, and come here for everything outdoorsy except for bikes.

Some of the worst service I have experienced in a long time. I was in a hurry and needed a bike lock before I went on my trip so I stopped in.

The staff were rude, I could not find someone who wasn't busy but I guess they had time to follow me around the store peeking around isles while I searched for a lock. Being there made extremely uncomfortable.

When I went to pay for the lock they told me I had t pay for a membership card in order to make a purchase. I was extremely tight on cash as is and I decided to buy it and leave.

Will not be returning.

The people here are insanely knowledgeable and passionate about outdoor sports/lifestyles so I hope they compensate them extremely well. Always a comfortable shopping experience. Prices are decent

A great place with knowledgeable staff who can help you find the right equipment. A tad pricey but their quality is well worth the extra money spent. I go here for all my good backpacking gear.
