This is a family vacation spot for us. The pool side walkout rooms were amazing. The couple staying with us next to us had a much more updated room. We had a great experience with multiple room service visits. They even took our dirty diapers. We did book 6 months in advance and requested rooms closest to the desk. We were put in the very back. However the front desk was so nice as well as the manager Steve. As a result of the outstanding service we booked again and more friends did too.

User

Our family loves the Lodge! We come two times a year and we live 7 hours away. My kids love love the breakfast and the watersides. This year we were lucky enough to have a newly renovated pool side room. I think this is a new family tradition.

User

Medicine Hat Lodge totally saved the day for us by accommodating our workshop on EXTREMELY short notice when another establishment failed the provide our group the necessary prebooked accommodations. Guest room is clean, admins staff kind and courteous, and the manager went above and beyond to help us in our dire situation. THANK YOU!

Love the Lodge!! Have held many banquets there and the food & service is consistently amazing!! It’s rare to find a hotel with multiple restaurants, water slides, casino and spa!! Plus they support so many community initiatives!

I stayed this past weekend with 3 children and this hotel was everything we all needed/wanted. The older kids swam while I watched them from the room as the baby was sleeping- which was a fantastic feature. Everything I requested * or the kids requested * was brought up promptly and politely...including my asking the hotel front desk to rescue the 2 that locked themselves on the balcony while baby and I were at the pool :)

Room service =delicious.

Breakfast = scrumptious.

Room = clean and spacious.

Hallways = quiet.

Pool = wonderful.

Would I say this hotel is perfect ? No. Was it everything I expected? Absolutely. Will I stay again and recommend this place ? You bet !!

User

Got a room for the grandkids and their parents over christmas. Lots of extra treats and christmas drinks, really appreciate the free food your staff put on. thank you

User

I stay here on lay overs for work, I really like it. Huge bed, clean rooms, great big TV. Breakfast is delicious, especially the tomatoes! If I had one request.... , the sausages, some days they are so good, then they changed to turkey or chicken sausages ... Not sure. Anyways, tasted like plastic! You could tell nobody liked them because the tub was still full at 9:30 am. Would be great if coffee was always available too!

Otherwise, I love the place.

User

Well the room wasn't totally clean we requested a cote and when we finally got it apparently pillows are not necessary even though you pay for the additional bed also there was no pillows for pull out couch and they knew there was 4 people sleeping in our room so we requested pillows an hour later phoned back about pillows and got told to look outside our door apparently they were just tossed at our door on the way by and now we het pillows of the ground in which was covered in popcorn due to some children. We also ordered our supper threw the hotel which took over an hour for some mediocre food and even though we requested it no plates or forks for 4 so again we made due now this he time we like well I guess we can go distress in hot tub one of the main reasons we booked with you and it was broken not hot at all so now we wet and cold but had to wait until towels were restocked just to get put of warmish tub all so no one was really informing pool/warm run rules. This could be an amazing place and I understand things break but this was just unacceptable and the taking the 10 dollar cote charge off did nothing to make me feel like trying this hotel again almost 300 for one night of not great oh and once in room couldn't even have a hot bath to warm up as there was hotish water in the bathroom

User

Was there for an annual tradeshow / conference. Housekeeping entered my room when I had intentionally put the "do not disturb" sign on the door. I wasn't in my room at the time, but discovered this because my bed was freshly made and they took away towels I would have been happy to reuse, but didn't replace those towels, one of which was the bath mat. I was booked for a two-night stay, so housekeeping wasn't necessary. I informed the front desk about this. I was in the tower that has been renovated this time, and it's much better. The beds are comfy and linens good, pillows are so-so. Spacious nice rooms, quiet and clean. The OLDER tower, however (where some of my colleagues stayed), where the rooms haven't yet been updated, is bad. The hallways stink of cigarette smoke, and the carpets, walls and lighting are dingy and old! The stairwell in that older tower really smells bad as well. There was also a gross tray of half eaten room service on the floor in that older tower that had been kicked around, left there for most of one day before it was removed.

The breakfast is just ok, the lovely grilled tomatoes are the best part. The fruit salad was pretty pathetic, mostly Pineapple and melon. The scrambled eggs are just tasteless and have a weird texture.

I will be back next year again for this same event, inevitably, but I hope to see some improvements! If you're planning to stay, ask to book a room in the newer tower for sure!

User

Just got home from a 3 night stay at what used to be one of our favourite places as we have gone at least 2 times a year since I was a kid. It was an absolute disappointment this time. We checked in and had booked 6 poolside rooms and although our rooms were all on one side they had random people in between us which was extremely awkward. The morning of our third day our room still wasn't clean at 1:00. The breakfast was ok but the staff in the restaurant were very kind and helpful. Now getting to the grumpy women at the front desk. I dealt with 4 of them throughout my stay and they were all extremely rude and unfriendly. The rudest one was actually the supervisor and upon checkout we had a few prepaid master cards to use up and she made it seem like a huge problem. Just picking up the phone and complaining trying to figure out how to use them. After a bunch of eye rolls she said they wouldn't accept them, then proceeded into their office slamming the door leaving the other girl to finish up. One of the people in our group who had checked out a day earlier left a phone charger plugged into the room and I went to the desk twice to ask if the maid turned it in and they said no. They wouldn't even leave a message or give a phone call to the new people that had checked in to ask if they could have a look for it in their room. Saying it's against their rules to bother a guest. It was a problem that could have been easily fixed so when I left the hotel they said they would call as they were checking out in 2 hours. This was over 24 hours ago and still no call of course. They received a call at the desk while I was standing there and the girl put it on hold and bashed the woman on the other end to her coworker saying I will deal with her and was all "bitchy" about it. Very unprofessional. It's sad to see an establishment where we have so many memories being run to the ground. The way the front desk women were was extremely uncalled for especially for someone with the title supervisor. She couldn't even put a smile on her face. Guess our tradition will have to try out the travel lodge next year to see if they appreciate our business as our hockey team booked over 20 rooms this weekend!

User

Have been to hotel several times, have been told of renovations but clearly the rooms we have stayed in were not included in renos! Very dissapointed in the state of the room and the many dead maple bugs in the room.which was supposed to be cleaned? Very disappointed in the overall rundown rooms, cutbacks on the beautiful breakfast that they used to have..paying almost $200.00 for a room in this state, is a very disappointing experience. The pool side room experience is great for the kids, but the hotel sure needs a redo for sure!!!

User

Had been going to the lodge since I was little. Was always a fun family little trip to the city! I now live here but at least once a year will book a room and have a little party with friends, generally over Xmas break! This last time was awful! Although I was discounted and it was all rectified....I was just very disappointed generally speaking! The pool was freezing! And the hot tub was closed.....go figure! Our room was filthy, food was average. I wood like to think things will change and be upgraded as the lodge used to be the high end family friendly hotel! So I hope In the near future things change for the better....or we will have to find a new stay-cation spot!

User

Wow has the Medicine lodge hotel gone down hill ! For $180 a night as soon as you opened the room door a musty smell hits you. The rooms weren’t very clean, items in the room very visibly broken. Definitely no upgrades to the rooms in yeeeaaars! The pool area is still all the same for years...The hot tub was luke warm and the jets were broken. All the other pools were very cold. Definitely won’t be booking a room here again until a lot of upgrading is done.

User

We booked this on our way through from Vancouver to London, Ontario. What a disappointment! This hotel is very dated. The air conditioner in our room leaked and the carpet was soaking wet. When we told the front desk, they didn't seem surprised or interested. The water slides were not supervised and people were going down in groups and crashing into each other at the bottom. Definitely an accident waiting to happen. The rooms and hallways were musty spelling and dirty. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

User

Unfortunately we found a bed bug in our room. The management was very quick to try to rectify the situation by offering to clean all of our belongings and offer a full refund but we definitely won’t be back

User

I booked a pool view room and was given a verbal quote of price when booking. Upon arrival they got us checked in and everything in a timely manner, but when I got to the room I realized they put us in a pool side room. I went to inquire about this because I knew that pool side was more expensive then pool view. They wouldn't do anything but make us pay the full price, or force is to move to another room if I wanted to pay the price I was quoted. By this time we were already unpacked and settled into the room they given. Why would we want to move!! They weren't full, from what I saw only 3 pool side rooms were being used including ours. So there was no high demand for the room.... Why not honor their quoted price for their mistake instead of causing me an inconvenience on what was supposed to be a relaxed well planned out/budgeted trip!

User

To crowded and we got food poisoning from the pizza( which was bitter and poorly made) it was apart of our package deal which the staff seemed upset about supplying to us. . Took along time to get food and they did not even bring a napkin, never mind plates. Also the movie in the deal we had to pay for first which makes no sense. We did not have blankets or pillows for our pull out bed. We picked this hotel for the hot tub which we were unable to use. Over 33 people in at one time, mostly kids with little supervision. The slide was unmanned and kids were going down a ton at a time hurting others. For the price I will choose another hotel next time, we come to Med Hat regularly and this hotel is not worth the hype. Last time we stayed the Hot Tub was out of commission as well. I am extremely dissatisfied.

User

This hotel is nasty! Don’t be fooled by the pictures online!!! We booked this hotel for the pool, it looked pretty sweet, upon arrival it was pretty run down! The rooms are dirty, we had blood on the curtains and the walls looked like they had never been cleaned. We requested a play pen for our son and when my husband opened it up it reeked of sour milk. Needless to say he slept with us. Very disappointed!!!

User

Dirty...lighting in room was aweful..waterslides look unsafe... ppl don't follow rules for safety.. can list more...would never go back..left after a hour stay and moved on to a better hotel

Unfortunately we found a bed bug in our room. The management was very quick to try to rectify the situation by offering to clean all of our belongings and offer a full refund but we definitely won’t be back
