TOWERS AND TREES Sometimes you have to step away to realize what you really have. Such was the case for Victoria indie darlings Towers and Trees, who less than a year into a hiatus precipitated by new babies, cross-country moves and career changes, found themselves back together where it all started, this time with acclaimed producer Ryan Worsley (Dear Rouge, Said The Whale) in tow. The goal: to create music that celebrates life’s biggest twists and turns instead of running from them, because as it goes the best things in life are worth fighting for.
This is the resounding message behind “Head Down / Heart Up,” the infectious and jubilant new single from Towers and Trees. It marks a fitting next step to what has always been a heart-first project. From their scrappy debut and its viral single Montreal to the heady anthems of 2015’s The West Coast, every Towers and Trees song is packed with authenticity and earnestness that is increasingly rare in this digital age.
Towers and Trees first made waves in 2013, emerging from Victoria as a Zone @ 91.3 Band of the Month and later a Top 20 finalist in Music BC’s prestigious Peak Performance Project (the largest artist development program in Canada at the time). Their music has played on commercial and CBC radio throughout Canada. They have toured Canada and performed notable showcases at Canadian Music Week, Break Out West, Rifflandia and Rock The Shores festivals, Khatsahlano Fest (Vancouver) and many more.
LOVECOAST Since their inception in 2013 Lovecoast has been delivering a new sound that won’t go unnoticed. By bringing "together modern day indie pop and blue-eyed ’70s R&B” (Ride the Tempo), the band has created something bouncy and infectious. Lovecoast finds inspiration in modern acts like the Cat Empire and Lake Street Dive, and classic legends such as Billie Holiday and Bruce Springsteen. Uniquely fresh and nostalgic all at once, Lovecoast is an up-and-coming act from the West Coast of Canada to watch.

Noble Oak http://nobleoak.net/ After receiving a Rhodes from a friend who no longer had space for it, Vancouver-born Patrick Fiore knew it was then and there that he would be able to finally make something happen. Having studied piano since age 7, Fiore amassed some 10 years of writing solo piano and symphonic compositions and began to really write music with a computer for the first time, at 19. And a lot of reverb. Thus the musical expedition of Noble Oak began.
A few short years later, Patrick's music has evolved along with his production capabilities and past experiences, creating immersive and captivating songs that are equally as passionate when instrumental as they are when layered with his ethereal tenor. Spanning a range of tempos and beat styles, this is music to love to, with a story packed into every song and melodies that lift you into the air.
Noble Oak has been globally recognized in dance, urban and indie online outlets including HYPEBEAST, THUMP, DIY, Indie Shuffle, Yours Truly and CLASH Magazine, with radio support from BBC Radio 1's Phil Taggart and Rob da Bank. After releasing his debut album Past Life and sophomore record Collapsing Together, it's only just the beginning for the upcoming virtuoso and his sweeping musical novellas.

I AM THE MOUNTAIN www.iamthemountain.ca I Am The Mountain plays campfire soul music, and is currently based in Calgary, AB. Carefully woven throughout our songs is emotion and atmosphere. We feel the music, and want people to experience our songs in the way that they feel is fitting. Chat with a friend, dance uncontrollably, have an Old Fashioned (neat), or lay quietly, motionless, focusing on each and every syllable and note. We bring in a variety of our past and present experiences, music tastes, and personalities. We’re a blend of classically trained instrumentalists, leaning on our jazz, soul, & folk inspirations like Typhoon, Dan Mangan, Hiatus Kaiyote & Christian Scott. Alongside Juno Award nominee, Nils Mikkelsen (AM Static), we have created a six song EP that will showcase the bands groovy and soulful new sound. The Ep, We’re Here For Each Other, is set to be released in early 2018.
HEAVEN & THE GHOSTS Heaven & The Ghosts are a trio of swelling harmonies wedged somewhere between psych folk and baroque pop. The bands debut EP is set to release January 2017
DANIELLE DAYTON Danielle Dayton has a natural flair for blues and soul. Based in Edmonton, AB her deeply dark vocals and rhythmic guitar leave listeners no choice but to groove along. Like her idols, Janis Joplin and Brandi Carlille, Danielle’s sound is at once energetic and thoughtful. Her focus on storytelling in her lyrics creates an anchor amidst the dynamic backdrop of her skillful guitar playing. She is known for bringing a compelling presence to the stage in her live performances, whether she plays a solo show or with a full band. Danielle teamed up with local producer and musician Peter Stone, and is thrilled to be releasing a new four track, blues rock EP later this fall.
MEAGAN LOVES (Swear by the moon is motivated madness by unpredictable practice. Swear by the moon is small town meets big city. It is boy meets girl and everything that happens in between. Zachary Moon and Meagan Loves together form a chemistry that cannot be described , only enjoyed. Their linear style of writing is not born of structure , but feeling, and leaves you wondering what they might play next.)
