I didn't start out planning to become a therapist. Somehow, life kind of sent me towards this profession through experience. I spent quite a few years working in the software industry. First as a developer and then moving into a series of roles as team lead and eventually manager. Over time, my focus shifted to helping people achieve their career and life goals.

It was about halfway through the experience in the world of software systems that I started to realize that a significant part of my own life just wasn't working for me. That was when I reached out to a therapist myself to start sorting things out. That first appointment began a process which would, one small step at a time, lead me to deal with the pieces in my own life which weren't working. Working with a therapist helped me sort out the worries, fears and anxieties which stood between me and the person I needed to be.

As the saying goes, "life is what happens while you are busy making other plans". While I was busy working on sorting myself out, life outside the therapist's office continued apace. Where I had been mostly writing code, I found myself more and more involved in managing the career goals of a diverse group of people, and doing some volunteer support work in the community all of which contributed to a gradual shift of perspective towards counselling and therapy.

Today, as a therapist, I work with my clients holistically to create a more satisfying life. So, whether the challenges you start with are anxiety symptoms or difficulties in the workplace, we will work together to make your life work better for you.
