Exciting News!!
The lake ice thickness was tested earlier today and measures 6-9”. One hockey rink has been cleared and ready for use after 4:30PM today.
The other 2 hockey rinks have been laid out however they do require work and are in rough condition. They will open for use later in the week. The pathway has been laid out however it is not open for use since it too requires work to remove some of the roughness.
... Be aware that there are a few wet spots where water is seeping up through cracks beneath the snow. Please do not venture into any wet areas.
Starting tomorrow ice fishing is permitted inside the skate pathway.

Exciting News!!!
The upper rink is now open. Come over and enjoy a beautiful day at the lake.

The upper skating rink for pleasure skating is nearly ready and will be open for use on Friday late afternoon December 7th. We have spent the past week flooding the rink and yesterday and today have been the best days to build up the ice thickness. The toboggan hill is open for use but please do not go beyond the beach onto the lake. Next week we will be testing the lake ice thickness and if it is safe we will begin to build the skate path and hockey rinks.

Last week we began flooding the upper rink only to see most of the ice melt and evaporate away in the warm weather. The return of colder weather has allowed us to resume flooding the rink this morning. We are hopeful to have it ready for use by next Friday, December 7th.
The lake ice remains unstable along the docks and west shore line. Foot traffic on the ice is not recommended. We hope to be able to work on the lake ice during the week of December 10th.
Christmas ligh...ts will be turned on starting Friday November 30th.
The Park will remain closing at 5:00PM until such time as we can open the upper rink. Please continue to check our Facebook page and website for updates.

Good Afternoon, the main building and washrooms are back open. thank you everyone for your understanding and patience while we completed these repairs.

Please be advised that we are again needing to close the main building, including washrooms tomorrow, November 28th, 2018 for needed repair work.
We will update the membership as soon as the work is complete and we are able to re-open the washrooms. Thank you for your understanding.

Midnapore Lake is excited to announce that we will again be offering SKATING LESSONS for 4 to 9 year old skaters. The program will be on Wednesday nights from January 9th to February 13th (6 weeks). Classes will be at 6:00 pm for Beginners and at 6:45 for level two. Classes will be 30 minutes in length. Classes are $40.00. This program is for members only and is first come first serve. It will fill up fast so call the office at 403-256-0550 for more details.
Beginner is for those with little or no skating experience and level two for kids who have skated before.
Participants must have sharpened skates, a ski or hockey helmet, gloves or mittens and ski/snow pants.

The main building and washrooms have re-opened. Thankyou for your patience and understanding.

Please be advised that all boats, including row boats are now out of the water for the season. Shore fishing will remain open until ice starts to form.
We will advise as soon as skating opens. At that time we will extend park hours.

Midnapore Lake is looking to hire a part-time member services staff person to start immediately. The person must be able to work evenings and weekends and particularly be able to work Sundays.
If you are interested in the position, please call the office during business hours and ask to speak to Deanna (403-256-0550) or drop by and fill out an application.

We have recieved our fall stocking of Rainbow Trout today. Fishing is not permitted until Sunday October 7th in order to allow the fish adjust to our lake.

FOUND - we have recovered a beautiful KITE from the trees in the park. We would love to return it to its owners. If you have lost a kite, please contact the office at 403-256-0550 to identify it.
We also had the Calgary Metal Detecting Club in the park last week. They recovered a few pieces of jewellery. If you have lost something, please call the office to identify and claim

Tomorrow's forecast high 3 degrees with drizzle and snow. Unfortunately we must cancel this program due to the continuing poor weather. It is not being re-sheduled.

Midnapore Lake has an immediate need for a Labourer/Grounds Maintenance Worker to assist with fall park operations. Guaranteed 40 hours per week. This is a term/contract position ending on October 31st, 2018. Please submit your resume to manager@midnaporelake.ca or stop by the office to complete an employment application. Please be advised that Movie on the Beach has been rescheduled for Saturday September 22, 2018.
The BBQ portion of this event has been cancelled. We are looking at other options and will let you know as information becomes available.
