Mitchell Eye Centre

Iv been bringing my mom here for a few appointments now as we were referred due to her Bell's Palsy. We have been here 3 times now and although Dr. Mitchell himself is great and is very reassuring that my mom will get better, when we see him his front reception staff are not great at all. We can not get a "Hello" or a look in the eye from most of them and today when we went to check out there was a girl on each side, the girl on the check outside did not look at us when we walked up to book our next appointment, she was busy cleaning her keyboard with hand sanitizer and did not greet us, after a few moments of waiting to be acknowledged we moved to the other side of the desk where the girl said " We cant help you over on this side please go back to the check out side" so we went back and she didn't say anything yet again. I asked if we were going to acknowledged and she said "Just a minute" without even looking up and then finished cleaning her keyboard. She booked us in for January and handed us a card with the date and time and that was that. no thanks or have a great day or sorry for making you wait. Its sad when you're coming to a place like this with a condition such as my mom has and then to be treated like that by the staff. You would think they would be more empathetic to the patients no matter what the condition. They have a sing right on the wall saying abuse will not be tolerated, but I guess applies to patients only and they can treat us however the feel at the time.

I was really impressed with the medical care I received. They were able to accurately diagnosis the hole in my retina and perform a simple laser procedure to fix it

My mom had eye surgery done here and to be honest the surgery itself went well but the staff are very disorganized and lack in responsibilty to actually call and confirm appointments. So when we called they tell you to come at an earlier time when the actual building is still closed and locked. Very unprofessional.

I really like Dr. Ryan Yau. I first saw him at the emergency eye clinic and have stuck with him for nearly 18 months now. Much better then just seeing an optometrist at a glasses store in my opinion. I feel my health is well taken care of here. He listens and doesn't try unnecessary interventions.

Hated the front desk lady...Moria or whatever her name is. She is rude and won't look at me in the eye when I ask a question. She rolls her eyes at me treating me like an idiot. every one else is exceptionally good, they r knowledgeable and friendly. Dr Yau is awesome and he took the time to explain everything I want to know :)

Very orderly and logical process, all staff were friendly, knowledgeable and described their tests prior to administering them. Be prepared for 2 to 2.5 hours of engagement, you will wait between every stage of the process so bring a book to entertain yourself. Dr. Mitchell and his staff were efficient, Professional and addressed my questions directly. He explained my condition, options and provided post visit documentation (ask for it on your way out). My only recommendation would be to prepare people prior to their visit so they know what to expect. Many of the complaints I have read relate to unexpected pupil dilation and long wait times; it's a medical office completing eye exams, what did you expect?

I was going in for strabismus eye surgery, knowing i was going under general anesthesia made me sick with anxiety.
The staff, drs, everyone there was so so patient with me leading up to it. After it was done, the nurses were so attentive and caring!
An incredible experience! Definitely go to this clinic! Know you are in very very good hands!
