Mobile Motorcycle Training Description

Basic /Beginner Course Students:

This 2 day ceritfied course is 6 hours per day typically on a weekend with a 2 hour classroom session on a separate evening, on a Wednesday evening starting at 6: 30pm in Strathmore. Private and weekday training is available.
Training from April to October. We only train 4 students at a time giving you more of the one on one training advantage. Also our small town environment for your first road ride and class 6 testing is what our students like about their investment into learning the proper bike control of this sport! We're also big on teaching safety and learning how to read the road.
Taking a training course is the most cost effective way to know if the sport is for you!

Course fee: $500

Class instruction:
During the 2 to 3 hours of classroom instruction, students are introduced to the controls of the motorcycle. Also discussed: bike selection, safety equipment, road, traffic and weather hazards and of course the importance of proper rider attitude. Bring your questions and a great attitude, as the on-bike portion of the course is devoted mainly to riding.

Lot instruction

The basics:
The first section discusses learning the basics: getting on and off the bike, pushing, parking, starting up and shutting down. This is followed by moving off and stopping, slow-speed riding and shifting up and down.

Skills training:
Students learn techniques needed to execute maneuvers at low and intermediate speeds. Emphasis is placed on smooth machine control. Balance and control on various lot exercises. In the process, students are also practicing for their license test.

Emergency training:
Techniques introduced for collision avoidance, hard but controlled braking and swerving. We show you how and then you practice knowing the right methods.

Road Ride Training:
Students who are deemed to be ready by our instructors for the road ride along with the students agreement will use the school's bikes on a controlled group ride. Road rides will be 2-3 hours in length and possibly in all types of conditions which have been talked about in the class session. We will discuss how to group ride and start off with slower, low-traffic residential routes and build from there. There will be stops to discuss how things are going, any concerns, and talk about the fun you're having.

What to do first:
You will also need to go to the registry and write a Class 6 knowledge test. Passing this test will give you a test permit that you will need to obtain your Class 6 license. You can also take the basic course without this permit as long as you have a valid Class 5 license.
