Motion City Sports Therapy Description

Who:
Dr. Levi Irwin started Motion City in 2013 in collaboration with the good people of Kensington Fitness.

Where:
The office is located inside Kensington Fitness Studio, 2nd floor 223 10 St NW, Calgary AB.

What:
MCST provides relief, rehab, and preventative care for patients and their bodies.

We assess and treat conditions such as back and neck pain, headaches, whiplash, sprains & strains, hip pain, knee pain, ankle /foot pain, shoulder pain, arm pain, wrist /hand pain, nerve symptoms (tingling, numbness, weakness, burning, shooting pain), postural syndromes, joint /movement restrictions, arthritis, and many more conditions.

How:
Our approach in business and in health-care service is based on the principle that the well-being of our patients is the most important thing, and it is what we work to maintain and improve.

We take time to listen to our patients, thoroughly assess their condition, and develop a personalized treatment plan for them based on their needs, goals, and preferences.

Treatments we offer are Chiropractic Care (consultation, assessment, manipulative therapy, condition management), Active Release Techniques, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, corrective and rehabilitation exercise recommendation.

When:
We aim to provide a variety of treatment times for our patients, so we are glad to offer morning, after-work, and weekend appointments.

Why:
It seems that physical activity is like magic for the health of a human being - it lifts the spirit, sharpens the mind, strengthens the body, and prevents many diseases.

Unfortunately, due to forces both within and outside of our control (i. e. stress, posture, scar tissue, food choices, compensation) our bodies can fall out of balance, making physical activity difficult as well as leading to injury, chronic pain, and dysfunction.

In our world, these things we call "neuromusculoskeletal conditions" are all too prevalent, especially considering they are often treated successfully without the use of medication or surgery. The gap between the actual and potential natural health of modern humans is why Motion City Sports Therapy exists, and we strive to to close this gap so that the people in our community can keep moving and live well.
