This place is amazing. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else! The people here are always nice and friendly. Everyone is up for anything! The professors are always there to help you and are just an email away. They get to know you by your name and always make you feel welcome as soon as you walk into class. You never feel judged around here. Everyone has the same goal in mind, make friends, pass classes and have a great time!

There for the first time yesterday!! Awesome experience!! A little overwhelming & emotional for me at times due to the thought of my baby girl going to University!! Hard to believe how fast time as gone by but feeling happy/proud for my beautiful baby girl 💕

The small class sizes have allowed me to get to know my profs and for them to get to know me. They understand the way that I learn and have been able to push me further in my studies. I never thought I was a mathematical person, but they have proven me otherwise. I have grown more as a person through my time in university than I have at any other point in my life. All the people and profs I've met along the years have had such a positive impact that I will never forget.

The Trading Post 150 event was truly a transgenerational and intercultural exchange with the ancient wisdom of First Nations and Metis people pulsing throughout the day. The speakers, musicians, film makers and dancers entertained and educated and opened a dialogue about honoring indigenous cultures, Truth and Reconciliation, deep ecology and the interconnectivity of all living things. This movement towards inclusivity is strong and I felt honored and priviledged to be a part of this event. I hope to be a part of many more to come and hope that as MRU embraces the Indigenization mandate of its Strategic Plan, the institute will become even more directly involved in supporting events like this one.

Small class sizes and amazing people. Genuinely a family atmosphere. You walk through the main halls knowing that there will be at least a couple friendly faces that will wave. It is so easy for students to find student services and programs where they can discover themselves, build community and contribute to the development of such an open and inclusive university.

Okay the one star reviews aren't even from students who attend here mostly. So let me tell you why this school is deserving of 5 stars. I'm in my second year of Psychology and I love it here. The students on a whole are really friendly. You can make friends in every single one of your classes, cause we are all like one big family! The professors here are absolutely amazing. I have never had a really bad prof yet, and it shows how amazing they are for how they treat their students. Since we have class sized capped usually at 35, the profs get to know you by first name, and what kind of a student you are. (That is perfect for Grad School applications.) We have an amazing support network as well, that ranges from the Library Staff, our Advisors, and the people who run the Wellness centre too! Also going to give a shout out to the Rec staff, who make the gym amazing as well. They get to know you by first name and are super helpful. I recommend this school to anyone who wants to get their Bachelors, cause this is the best school for it!

My Alma Mater! An inclusive, storied institution with the most qualified, caring professors and other helpful staff. A wonderful environment for any age (I was in my late 30s/early 40s when I did my social work diploma, and my son just graduated at 22 years old from the Bissett School of Business)! You need to attend this school!!

Mount Royal University is the best thing that's happened to me. Despite what people who have never been here or gotten involved with this place think, it's the most positive and inclusive environment I've had the privilege of being in. Love love love it here.

I find it so sad that one so called "incident" has tarnished the image of this fantastic university. One of the many reasons I chose Mount Royal is because I had heard from friends who were taking classes there that there was an overwhelming sense of community between students, faculty, and administration. I can vouch for this sense of community, it brings a sense of comfort knowing that everyone at the university is there to learn or teach. Every professor that I have had in my four years at this school has learned my name, interests and generally cares about how I do in school. The small class sizes allow students to get hands on experience beyond the textbooks and lectures, and Mount Royal brings in professors with field experience to make these lessons even more relevant. I genuinely love this school, I have had nothing but good experiences and I'm certain that those will continue throughout the rest of my time at MRU. Going forward I will always recommend Mount Royal as one of the best schools to go to. Period.

I definitely loved Mount Royal and expecting to go back to undergraduate degree there. I love the faculty of nursing and I am willing to get into nursing school, they have so many nice quiet study areas for nursing students and others. The registration officers gave me the informations that was really helpful. I am looking forward to go back to school approximately in the fall semester of 2019. #FingersCross

I am proud, honoured and blessed to be apart of the inspiring learning environment that Mount Royal University provides to all students. The small class sizes allows students the opportunity to connect with the professors and make new friends/connections. Social engagement, clubs and events are constantly running to ensure a variety of opportunities; as well as, many resources are provided to ensure our success as students. MRU truly strives to give students a well-rounded university experience and provides hands-on learning to set us up for internships and jobs, following graduation. MRU is a welcoming environment that feels like home; there is no other university that I'd rather attend.

User

Honestly, this is one of the best school's and shouldn't be given 1 star because of an argument that has nothing to do with the school itself . People who have never been to this school shouldn't be reviewing anyways.

From the first time I stepped foot onto Mount Royal's campus, I felt a very welcoming and positive vibe from the faculty and students that I didn't exactly feel at other campuses. Mount Royal really works to make the campus feel like a second home to everyone, and after the past few years of spending my time here, I've had nothing but good experiences. From profs that work hard to get to know you and develop an actual relationship with you, to tons of activities and clubs that can make your university experience about more than just getting the grades. You can have fun and meet tons of great new people while you're at it. I'm proud to be a part of this great university, and to anyone who is questioning which institution would offer the best university experience, you can't go wrong with Mount Royal. How many other students can say that after a final their prof took the class out for celebratory drinks at the bar?!

User

For the most part I enjoyed MRU, small class sizes are great and the profs are excellent. I enjoyed the gym and I enjoyed the selection in the cafeteria. Academics are good and they give you a good feel of university level courses. Best part is math that people are welcoming and I felt pretty comfortable there.

I do feel that SAMRU dictates what everyone wants and that not all voices are heard. Especially after the Trump hat. I feel the best way to improve MRU is give SAMRU a dramatic overhaul and get students running SAMRU who have many different views. If SAMRU could have an overhaul and replace the executive with students of all political views, more positive things could be done for students.

Fantastic professors and wonderful students everywhere. Everyone I've met at this school has been nothing but friendly and welcoming. The school offers services and programs that helped me feel integrated at school when I came here knowing almost no one. Your profs know you by name and small class sizes also help you to meet new people and get the most out of your classes.

I went to MRU for an event sponsored by MRU. Google Maps parked me next to the wing where the event took place in a large, mostly empty parking lot. It took me 20 minutes to find the room I was looking for only to learn it had been moved but there was no sign indicating where. A staff member helped me find the event. A few hours later when the event was over, I went to my vehicle parked in the nearly empty parking lot only to find I had been ticketed - $40 or more. Why are campuses like MRU so unfriendly to visitors?

User

Worst university to deal with ever . I’ve never been treated so poorly. These people transfer you 100 times and are so rude when you call for things .

User

This school is by far the greediest and prettiest school i have ever had the misfortune of attending. If you live in res and have a vehicle youre fucked if you dont get a permit because they have a limited amount of passes they sell even though the lots a rarely if ever full. I could look past all of that though, however when me and a couple other students found a spot on campus that had no sighs and was on a nice wide road not blocking the street it took them 2 whole days to throw up signs saying people cant park there. For what reason because they want money its infuriating how little they actually give a shit about their students.

User

So far pathetic experience applied for open studies, now I get told "waiting on a descision." Pretty good grades from the colleges I attended, and a 3.67 grade point average when I graduated from high school. Will be looking into going to another University.
