Movie Poster Shop

They have a wide variety of posters, however many of the nicer ones are only available in a more expensive, canvas type.

Wonderful place, didn't realize the store off 16th Ave had closed and these folks had taken their stock. Little hard to get to as I live outside of Calgary but was worth the trip. They have lots of stock on hand and if you can't find what you want (perhaps you saw it on their website but they don't have it in store) they're more than happy to order it in for you.

OK, let's lay it out. First off, the staff: rude. Super-duper-rude. A total "superiority-vibe" that is just so off-putting.
Next, here's a simple thing: if you're going to advertise "FRAMES TO FIT MOVIE POSTERS", then actually sell frames that fit movie-posters. Up until the mid/late 1980's, a movie poster was 27"x41". After, they were scaled down to 27"x40". As all girls know, that extra inch can be a deal-breaker. When asked about frames that would fit 'vintage posters' (ie. THE VAST MAJORITY OF ALL POSTERS EVER MADE, EVER), they get their noses out of joint faster than you can say "Fay Wray".
Another thing, there's a lot of product on display that apparently they don't want to sell. I asked about a few unpriced items and was gobsmacked to hear "oh, no, I don't think we're selling that" time and time again. I asked about one item that was lazily tacked onto the ceiling (ratty, full of holes from multiple pinnings) and he just shrugged, telling me it would be too much work to pull it down. Note: I could have done it in 5 seconds with a chair.
The place is a rip-off - they sell a LOT (A LOT!!) of poster reproductions that aren't identified as such. So be aware of what you're buying, if you go there. You might want somebody who knows a thing or two to be with you, so you don't end up spending $40 for something worth about three bucks.
And finally, it has to be stressed - rude, entitled, off-putting staff. Just avoid this place. Avoid it. You can get everything you want on-line and probably for cheaper and without having to pay the extra cost of stroking the egos of these idiots.
