Murrieta'S Bar & Grill

Nice atmosphera, beautiful restaurant, nice staff, reasonable prices. I had garlic soup and it was so good. The burger was good but not great.

We hosted our wedding at Murrieta's in August 2017 and it was absolutely amazing. Cody, Keith and the whole team behind them helped us put together a flawless day. The food was amazing as usual, but the team went the extra mile and did all of our wedding decor set up on the day so we didn't have to worry about a thing. The room is beautiful and didn't need much added to it which was perfect for our laid back mountain wedding. Highly recommended!

The only reason I'm even giving two stars is because the food tasted good. However, the service was terrible. The restaurant was a bit busy, but not so much that it should have taken 45 minutes to receive the food we had ordered. I spent a good 15 minutes staring at the kitchen (after 30 minutes of waiting) only to see all of the servers moving dirty and clean dishes around with no actual food being brought out. Not once in that period did our server come over.

The server was apologetic, but completely neglected us for the majority of our time there. It was to the point where she dropped off dessert menus after we had finished our meals and then did not come back for a full 15 minutes. She did not even once look over, and I got to the point where I was putting on my jacket and about to find someone else. Once she did come back, she was apologetic, but it does not excuse the extremely slow service.

She had the manager come over to discuss our bill (we were given a 50% discount), and he essentially explained that she was new and that he needed to talk to her about prioritization. However, if she was new and serving a large group (which she was that night), I would have expected the manager to have had more of a role in assisting her, rather than blaming her for the terrible service.

Overall, I was very unimpressed with the experience and spent roughly 2 hours in this restaurant due to inexcusably slow service.

Had an amazing meal at Murrieta's! The food all around was great, from appetizers to desserts. The elk steak was amazing and perfectly cooked, and their wine selection is really good.
Most places in Canmore we tried to eat required a reservation at least a day or more in advance (which can be inconvenient). So make sure if you want to get in to some of the more recommended places, you really plan your meals ahead of time. Murrieta's has online reservations, and we were able to book a table the morning of. Would definitely recommend and visit again.

Reservations may be needed or you might get turned away. We lucked out although we ended up on high chairs and table in the 'lounge' area. Food was really good. A bit upper end of the food and price spectrum but I wasn't disappointed. Compared to some other restaurants we visited on our road trip this was one of the gold star establishments.

There was a cool atmosphere here and nice view of the mountains. Maybe a bit pricey for what I got. I got pasta and chicken and I felt like it was mediocre.

The place look nice with very good ambiance, the mansger who greeted us at the entrance was polite and friendly. The food were decent, would've given a 4*. However, the restaurant was stuffy and hot, all windows were closed but there is no ac, we were sweating in there just by sitting there... In addition, we were unimpressed with the waiter who served us... Not sure if he was racist against Chinese or maybe we were a group of 8 so he didn't put as much effort serving us since he is guarenteed with 18% tips. Oh well, first time and last time.

Everything was great! The atmosphere /decor is really nice, wonderful tables by the open air windows gave us a great view of the town and mountains. The server was attentive and had a great personality. Our food was very good too...we shared a large house salad that was not your ordinary salad and fish n chips that was crispy, light and not greasy at all. We enjoyed the whole experience .

Great staff! Great food! Pricing is good concidering how beautiful this place is. Enjoyed a great lunch with wine and amazing views. Will definitely go back here!

Been here before when visiting Canmore over the years and loved it; was disappointed by the food this time. I chose the chef's special, which wasn't as described and the amount of chicken was very sparse. The waitstaff was great as well as the space and views. Definitely won't be in a rush to return here. It's too bad.

Good atmosphere and view. Food is ok sadly there are better places for pasta or steak. So im not sure if ill ever go back. Not memorable for its price.

Excellent food and service. We went with a group of friends for lunch, there were twins aged 3 and they looked after us really well. Nice surroundings too.

Nice mid class restaurant. The atmosphere is contemporary. It's upstairs and overlooks downtown. In the evening it is dimly lit which gives it a vey romantic feel. I see lots of people out on dates here. The food is pretty good. We had vegetarian pasta and steak when we were here last. Everything was cooked well and flavourful. It wasn't anything exceptionally for the price. I would go again.
