love your videos wish my daughter and i could play like that!!.........it does NOT sound like that :D also my daughter loved the violin gift i bought from your store!!
We spent the better part of Friday afternoon at Myers Music. My son James bought a fiddle from Myhre's Music. Great sounding fiddle a step up from the one he owns . We love the place Alphie and the gang are always there to help and make your visit a great and memorable one .
The service I've experienced at Myhre's is impeccable. The prices are very fair, particularly considering they are a small, local music store with incredible staff and products. Definitely my number one recommendation to any string player.
The friendliest people that I've ever met. Installed string on my Fiddle right away and no charge. Did a great job on my bow doing a re hair.
Thanks to the wonderful staff at Myrhe's for giidance and recommendations when searching for a special someone's Christmas gift! You'll be seeing me again and again!
Thanks for the excellent buying experience Byron! The 000 is settling into its new home nicely. The atmosphere and staff at Myhres are top notch!
Such a wonderful place with friendly and helpful staff. Always feels like you've gone to visit a friend. They've helped me out with my old violin so much. All I can say is that the staff are all fantastic.
Simply the best at what they do: sharing their love of music by helping others join in with quality instruments, service and repairs... not to mention great family videos!
Myhres is in the neck of the woods that I've lived in my whole life, and have known many people to go there and always be happy!
This family owned business; although I don't know the husband personally, but his wife is a client of mine so I can say she's a beautiful woman inside and out! Which is what every successful business needs!
I recommend Myhres to anyone!
Myhre's Music in Edmonton offers a wealth of experience and expertise! Centred around the family that comes from generations of professional musicians, they have a top notch team that stands on old fashioned values and excels in customer service. Smiling and friendly, honest and enthusiastic, I've seen the folks at Myhre's show the same kindness and respect to stars of fame and to those just beginning their musical journeys. My interest is traditional (bluegrass) instruments. I've travelled several times from Regina to do business at Myhre's--always worth the trip!!
Just paid my first ever visit to Myhres Music, my new favourite music store. Nice people, some amazing guitars on the wall, and everything in the room has new strings, is set up properly, and is in tune. Fell in love with a Martin D35 but played a 1/2 dozen I'd love to take home. I've got a Gibson Super Jumbo that needs some delicate work done. I brought it here because they have the best reputation in town, and now I know it's well deserved.
If Myhre's Music isn't the friendliest guitar store in Canada I'll eat my hat. When I moved to Edmonton I made a point to visit Myhre's within the first week because I'm a Martin fanatic. I felt like a valued customer moments after walking through the door.
I have bought a couple guitars from Myhre's in my quest for the elusive "keeper" people talk about and had other guitars serviced by Thomas. I will continue to happily give my business to this store due to their knowledge, great selection of Martin and other guitars, and mostly due to the fact that they always seem as willing as I to geek out about guitars for a few minutes.
I absolutely love this place, I can barely play the radio but today they made my day, I picked up my ukulele and enjoyed every minute of it. Be back soon.

Great team at Myhre's! Everybody is friendly, and can tell you everything you need to know about the instruments. Picked up a banjo (only place in the city worth picking up a banjo at) and a guitar and had them both installed with pickups and they sound phenomenal, and have had no technical issues. And whether you're looking for you dream instrument (vintage/used/new) or just looking to get your feet wet and pick up an instrument for the first time, this is the place to come!
Great service and knowledgeable staff. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for stringed instruments or service for one.
Friendly service, very understanding of a beginner's needs and price points, and a wick turnaround for my repair. I'll definitely be back!
Friendliest most wonderful staff of ANY music store in Edmonton. Have been a wonderful source of support and inspiration since I picked up my very first fiddle from them so many years ago. Love the whole gang there!
Best store (let alone acoustic music store) I've ever been to. Period. The staff greet me on a first name basis and are always happy to see me and help me out with anything I'm in for. I've picked up many great things from Myhres: everything from three instruments, to fret work, pick up installation and instrument set up, and various odds and ends.
The icing on the cake was their willingness to let me play anything in the store - including two different 1939 Martin D-18s, which are priceless guitars (more than $30, 000 for those babies).
Friendly service, excellent selection of acoustic instruments, and the best luthiers in the city. If you need an acoustic instrument, anywhere from entry level to "life dream" level, this is the place to go!
Thanks for being awesome Byron, Alfie, Thomas, Bob, George and team.
Back many years ago I bought a second hand fiddle there, it lasted so many years. It's too small for me now, since I got it when I was 8 (10years ago) and it is still.in great shape.
He sells good quality instruments and you deal with great staff!
Alfie actually tried to help me find a solution to my rosin (the stuff you put on the bow) allergy as well!
I haven't been lately, but I'm sure the store is just as great as it was years ago!!
