Went to National 17th with some friends and experienced amazing food & service. Wide variety of wine, beer and other drink options. Good vibe and awesome patio too. These guys are doing it right!
Went in to grab a bite Friday night. It was super packed but the staff fit me in at the bar no problem. Food was great, beers were cold and the staff was fantastic.
The patio is always fun and the service is great
Staff is super friendly and the food is on point! Always a choice spot to grab some elevated pub food and drinks.
Our server was Cass (I think that's what it said on the bill). She took great care of us; the service was timely and well done. The food was excellent. I don't get downtown that much, but I'll be sure to come again! Cheers.
National on 17th was a blast! The food was great and the beer/wine choices were on point! The staff, in particular Cam Pinkney, made our experience one to remember with specialized pairings and VIP service. Can't wait to go back and have that much fun again!
I don't smoke so had no worries re: reentry. But besides that, i was pleased with how i was treated as a solo guy from Seattle. The Dj and I had a great convo. I also grubbed on the oysters which is unusual for me to buy off the coast. They were GREAT! I never caught that guy's name who helped me with my oysters selection and also my choice of sauces but he did really well! I am also a fan of the bouncer, Bruce... thank you very much. When you travel and are alone at a bar always great when you are treated with respect so for that reason I recommend this place to anyone who wants to come up to Calgary
Good beer, good service. Oysters are served nicely.
Friendly service and the salad I had was delicious and the person I was with had the fish Tacos and he knows fish Tacos and really liked it so what more can you say. All day happy hour on Monday on all their beers is an amazing deal
Amazing service, excellent food/drink and a fun and easy going atmosphere.
Alberta Beef Shortriib bowl is to die for. 10 out of 10!!!!! You do not expect this kind of quality out of a pub. Wow!!!!
★★★★ We were greeted within seconds of walking in the door. We were allowed to sit anywhere we wished and the staff and atmosphere was very welcoming. The hostess took our drink order and our server followed close behind. Willow was very helpful, friendly and her attitude was lovely. She had a few tables in her section and keeping busy with us all. The other staff who didnt have tables were cleaning..(not where customers were sitting ...other side of room of course)..but yes I swear... you could eat off the light fixtures!!! :) our water was topped up no fuss.....and the food came out in "fast like ninja" timing. I had the lobster sliders...delish and my coworker had the hot beef..yum real cheese curds. I recommend this establishment for a good bite and if you like and can enjoy beer....its their speciality!!!!! Cheers Ps I read they have BYOvinyl on Wednesdays!!!!!
Great place to start out our Friday night Stampede with fab friends! DJ was an absolute a$$ though....
Today, the experience was too bad so we decided Never go back again. We used to go this places often for the happy hour Oyster, and we normally eat $80-110 for just oyster (2 of us), we always make sure we pay good tips too. Today we are in rush so we ordered 4 dozen at the same time ( normally we do 2 dozen and add 2 add 2 each ) , we wait more than 40 mins and no one talk to us for the updates, then when it arrives, the Oyster is super small, same size as the sauce spoon...all 48 of them... i feel like they must picked all smallest ones for us. Then we ask to have 1 extra sauce ( think about there are 48, only 1 sauce), our waitress seems too busy so i walked to the bar ask the other waitress, she is like half sleep and reply me " what ?" With very impatient face, then i explain again, she said "ok" , then we wait for 20 mins, nothing come to our table. Later our waitress bring it for us after i asked her again. On our bill they charged $1 " extra sauce "... unbelievable, we don't care about $1, but if we order 2 dozen and then 2, we will get more sauce for free and just creat more dishes for them to wash, more work for them but we can pay less ?? Whole night every waitress has poker face on us but big smile when talk to other " white " customers , we feel very offended, and we gave 15% tips and we will NEVER come back.
Good choice of beers on tap. Mac and cheese and the Glory Bowl were a hit. Service was friendly. The patio layout may create a challenge on getting drinks fast enough.
Went here for a girlfriend's birthday, boys went out for a smoke at 8pm and wouldn't be let back in, the bouncer claimed they were at capacity but kept letting new women that showed up in. The guys even had seats open next to us and half full drinks. We were $400 deep in drinks and food and would have probably spent another $400. Birthday night cut short for no reason. I will not be back for sure.
Not so good for the price ,service was ok she didn't smile or anything , and for super i took the chickens with fries and salade ask 3 time for mayo and worst chicken I eat so dry the sauce that came with it was cold , for the place cool looking and very trendy but for the reste definitely not coming here again
Me and a group of friends went to National on 17th last Saturday May 6. Our Drinks took 20 mins to arrive. This is when I was inclined to believe the food was going to take a while too. I asked our waitress if the food was going to be super long as we were all hungry and had just hit the gym... she said 20 mins tops. I started my timer. Sure enough it took 55 mins for our meals to arrive... I kept waiving our waitress down like I was dying on a ship and she never came once. Our waitress then decided to go tell the bouncer to kick us out. Little did the bouncer know that we had already talked to the manager... it took another 30 mins to settle our bills. My meal was free... but 2 hours of post gym starvation and rude workers are not worth 18 dollars... They did charge me for my drink.
June 9th... 8pm... Wasn't too busy and I was the only one waiting at the bar for a beer, got eye contact from the 3 bartenders but no expression and no interaction just passive aggressive silence?!?... I was well dressed but maybe because I'm half asian they were offended by me or something? After about 5 minutes of waiting to get their attention I gave up and sat down with my friends on the patio and my order was taken in about 5 seconds... Just Say Hi to your customers... I felt offended I wasn't even given a "be right with you" or "sorry I'll just be a minute" nothing...
