Native Studies Students' Association Description

The NSSA is a Faculty student association at the UAlberta. We serve the needs of students registered through the Faculty of Native Studies and students enrolled in Native Studies courses at the University of Alberta.

We would like to acknowledge that our University, the Faculty of Native Studies and our Students' Association are located on Indigenous territory shared by the Cree, Saulteaux, Métis, Blackfoot, Nakota Sioux, Mohawk and Dene nations. We are grateful to be on Treaty 6 territory; specifically ancestral Papaschase space. These nations are our family, friends, faculty, staff, students, and peers. As members of the University of Alberta Students’ Union we honour the nation to nation relationship. We aspire for our learning, research, teaching, and governance to acknowledge continuing colonial violence and respect Indigenous knowledges and traditions.
