Nechi Institute (1974) has been delivering comprehensive theory and experiential training in addictions for over 40 years.
Nechi Institute Centre Of Indigenous Learning Description
Since 1974, Nechi Institute built on a sacred foundation of Natural Law has been delivering exceptional courses. Nechi is a leader locally, nationally, and internationally. Providing comprehensive addictions training (theory and hands-on) and community wellness courses to both Indigenous, Metis, Inuit and Non-Indigenous Communities and Organizations.
Nechi teaches a processes of de-colonization utilizing a teaching model that integrates theory and practice through role-playing, experiential learning and group work. Nechi has been consistent and conscientious in the original mandate which is to facilitate a holistic healing process that will improve the health and wellbeing of Indigenous Peoples, members of the public and private sectors, and the international community. We continue to rely on the strength and wisdom of our Elders.
Although, great progress has been made, the challenge to improving the lives of Indigenous people is ongoing. Historical trauma is insidious and the long-term ill health continues to devastate Indigenous communities.

I took the FASD training and Residential school training there in 2002..not sure but my pic up with the other instructors.. still
Great place
Good courses,,but,,there are no jobs in this field,,so it’s almost a waste of your time and money or band money,to get trained for a career and there are absolutely no jobs to go to afterwards,,nechi doesn’t have any work either,,and if you want to work for the whites,then you need to have a bachelor of this and a masters of that,,there is no practicum,,nechi is basically just a counselor factory....they pump out a ton of councillors,,but they got no where to go to afterwards,,,so beware,,

Nechi is an awesome institute with great, kind, caring instructors and staff! I love the teachings and the tools they teach us. Although the food could be better
