New Health Journey wants to help you welcome a new beginning to your life by helping with you through your health journey. My name is Dr. Charmagne Sia Lu, and I am passionate about helping people reach their wellness goals, through natural therapies.

Ever since I was young, I knew I wanted to help people. I remember when I was still in elementary, learning about the rainforest, that I believed that nature provided everything that we would ever need. All the medicine needed to cure every disease was out there, waiting to be discovered - or re-discovered. My love for botanical medicine sprouted along with my desire to prevent diseases and help people heal.

Naturopathic medicine was the perfect combination of things that I loved. I learned about conventional medicine - the pharmacology along with pathophysiology - and the different therapies that I can use to help people heal. Naturopathic medicine is largely about preventative medicine, but it also addresses several ailments that conventional medicine has a hard time treating due to the chronicity of it, such as Alzheimer's Disease, concussions, hypertension, etc.

Currently, I am finishing the practical portion of my Lactation Consultant requirements. Breastfeeding is an important part of growth and development of an infant, and allows a strong bond to be formed with the mother and baby. I choose to learn and train to be a Lactation Consultant because I want to support mothers who want to breastfeed their babies. It is very difficult, and the support for the dyad is lacking.

In addition, I am a Birth Doula, trained in encouraging and empowering women with their birth experience. As a Birth Doula, I am with the mother throughout the whole of her labour from when she needs me to helping her latch her baby.
