Nick'S Steakhouse & Pizza

As a business owner and consultant, I travel quite a bit. This is my first visit to Nick's Steakhouse & Pizza. From the time I walked in, being greeted by the owner, to the excellent and friendly serving staff and the quality of the food, the whole experience was fantastic. I order steak where ever I go, and I'm usually disappointed at the quality and poor preparation. The quality and preparedness of the steak was PERFECT and the rest of the meal and service was 5-star. I would definitely recommend and I do plan to return. (And, I'm pretty sure I was actually sitting next to THE "Nick" and didn't know it at the time. Well done to all the kitchen and serving staff. We went for our anniversary and were very disappointed. When we arrived, it was very busy (they were expecting a large crowd of 100 and received 150 which I am sure was hard to manage) so I think they were a little behind from the beginning. We were sat at a table in the bar area which was right by the door and was freezing. There was nowhere else so that was fine. We ordered our salads and appetizer but our steaks/meal came out before everything else. Our waitress then brought us our salads and appetizer and we had to combine things on plates because there was not enough space on our tiny table. We then had to wait until she came back to ask for forks and she could only find one (again likely due to the unexpected large crowd that had been there). We waited close to 5 minutes for another fork. We then had to ask for napkins. We then had to track her down again because she did not bring anything for our baked potatoes (Don't get me wrong- she was busy and I understand that people forget). We then settled into our meal and I found a hair in my sour cream. The waitress said that she could take the potato off my plate and get a new one but I asked that she take my whole plate because I was unsure what the hair had touched. She apologized, took my plate, and brought the bill. She took off the appetizer because of the mix up at the beginning but there was no compensation for the hair and the meal I was unable to eat (luckily I had eaten most of my steak which was delicious by the way)- the plate included my starter salad also because of I had to add it to my plate when everything was brought at the same time and there was no space. So at the end, I missed half my meal and left hungry. I understand that mistakes happen but when they happen and nothing is done about it other than bringing you the bill, that is not ok. Will not be visiting again! :-(

Went for Sunday brunch this morning and had a great time. Amazing beef as always and the home cooking and atmosphere you get at night is also their for brunch. I felt like I was in grandmas kitchen!!! Amazing value as well, I told the wife that I was guessing it would be $40 each as drinks are all included and it ended up being $25 each!!!!!!

We went to Nick's for thanksgiving dinner. It was awful we all had the turkey dinner the salad was a bowl of iceberg lettuce one small slice of tomato. The turkey was so dry it was hard to swallow. the stuffing was soggy and the veggies had no taste and where over cooked. The potatoes where cold. the best part of the dinner was the cranberry sauce. They never came to see if we needed more drinks. They also never asked if we wanted any coffee with our pie. It was definitely not worth $31.99 i would give no stars if they would let you.

Love coming to Nick's. Service is typically really good. I've been here on a weeknight when the place has been packed and still received great service. Steaks are always delicious, pizza is good too. Quite often we'll see Nick hanging around, or greeting and helping seat customers. Prices are a little higher but it's always a good dinner out.

Been here about 5 times. Truly great food - we ordered different food every time and everything was delicious! Excellent service and management as well. Every time we go to Calgary we are totally visiting Nick's!!!

Friendly staff. The server made sure that the drinks were refilled if needed. The food was good and didn't take long to be delivered to the table. I had the Petros Special and it was delicious. The server took the time to check to see if we got just one tab or if it was separate which it was. The prices are reasonable.

Went here for the Sunday brunch. Couldn't ask for much more, everything you could think of was in the buffet. Very tasty, no complaints whatsoever. The only problem I did have was the price which seemed pretty high, but when you have all-you-can-eat steak you have to expect a premium. I know a lot of people 'beak' about the decor, but I really enjoy the retro look, hopefully that doesn't change.

Walking into Nick's feels unpretentious from the initial greeting to departure. The front of house staff are not only professional, but their diligence and warmth come effortlessly.
The menu spreads from an extensive appetizer selection, to decadent desserts. In between there is not a dish I've tried which lacks care and flavour.
Anyone who says otherwise is abusing their rights to free speech.
