Northland Lodge Description
The Northland Lodge was built in 1928 by Louis Hill of The Great Northern Railway. He designed the building and named it Carthew Lodge where it accepted guests until his death in 1948. After Mr Hill's death Earl and Bessie Hacking purchased the building and renamed it Northland Lodge. The Hacking Family continues today to run the Lodge boasting the 4th generation to care for the business and building.

Newest map of the Boundary Creek Fire south of Waterton. As you can see it’s not growing and it’s starting to burn itself out. It is also on the US side and has not moved into Canada or if so not much. We are expecting rain in the next few days which should help clear the air. Well here we go ... the latest map of the fire near Waterton. As you can see it is mostly in the U S with no fuel from last years fire so it looks as if it is heading south. No evacuation as of yet and we can’t see how it can come into the townsite with no fire fuel. Its soooo cozy...quaint and its run by a wonderful lady.....loved loved the breakfast muffins. ..a must stay in Waterton......
Great place and people who run it. Had soup and bread made by Mark on 2 occasions as well as a piece of Saskatoon pie/ yummy. Also enjoyed sitting outside having a drink on the upper deck all of the other guests one night. Unfortunately we left 2 nights early due to the �. Am sincerely hoping this beautiful property remains unscathed and that we can return for another visit one day.

From our crisp embroidered sheets and pillowcases, fresh breeze through the casement windows, to a comfy lounge, we also enjoyed homemade muffins, jam, pies and soup! We hiked some trails and just relaxed. 100% of what I needed. Thanks Stacy, Hunter, and Mark and all your team!
Family stayed her for one night in there "bears den" room. Wonderful accommodations. Friendly staff and great location. Thanks for one of the best sleeps I had traveling!
