While I initially had some horrible experiences with niimd before the change in ownership (in 2014/2015) I have to say that since becoming "One Beauty Academy" this school has turned into a beautiful facility where staff and students alike truly are "one" - I was treated like a family member while I was a student there, and accommodations for my invisible disability were made a priority from the moment I enrolled in the Masters program last June. It's not often that you find a group of educators that care so deeply about not only the quality of your education but your quality of life, both inside and outside the walls of their school. But that is exactly what you will find here!

It's pretty obvious how fabulous this place is!

I have been attending this school since June last year. They have never been anything but fantastic. The educators are all fantastic and the admin staff is all perfect. I attended for the master program for makeup. In December/January I got very ill and missed a lot of the special effects class. My educator and the staff worked out me taking medical leave and joining a class this June. They have been fantastic to work with and very understanding of my issues. The staff are all very supportive and knowledgeable and have been more than willing to work with students to make sure their needs are met for education. There have been some issues with previous management yes, but current staff have worked so hard to fix everything and make sure this school continued to be as amazing as it can be. I am proud to be attending here and will value all my time spent in this school.

As a current student at this school, I can say I 100% love it. The education I have gotten thus far has been top notch. The educators do amazing work, and I would not have been able to accomplish any of what I have without their continuous support and guidance. Looking forward to finishing my master's diploma in makeup artistry and seeing what I can do with this beautiful opportunity I have been given!

I am here to say that this school discriminates against disabled people. They removed a student from classes with the statement, and I quote, "You are to disabled for our school". This is not legal under both Calgary and federal law. They were aware that their actions were discriminatory and illegal, and still did them. Any and all people considering attending should either avoid this school, or be prepared to hide any disability just in case. I fully expect for this review to be removed, as their track record shows they are just petty enough to do that.
