I’m a registered nurse with focused training in Mental Health and Aging. Over the past 8 years, I have witnessed and experienced first hand some of the significant health consequences present when we don’t look after ourselves. Modern day health care is heavily focused on treatment as opposed to prevention and unfortunately this has lead to a growing number of illnesses and ‘super-bugs’. While I have a great deal of respect for science and medical advances, I firmly believe that a better balance between modern and holistic medicine could lead to a healthier society overall.

I started researching essential oils in 2012 to use in homemade soaps, focusing then on antibacterial and antifungal properties. From there I branched off my interests to sugar and salt scrubs and bath soaks. I’ve found the most benefits from the soaks since the oils have an opportunity to be absorbed by the body, and who doesn’t love a good bath! Mostly self-trained, I have read numerous books and taken short courses on aromatherapy to learn more about blending oils and treating common ailments.
